First Writeup- 2005 Torch Red Mustang Correction

First off I want to say Hello. Ive been lurking around here for awhile and haven't posted but have gotten a bunch of helpful tips. I'm RJ and I'm from Clinton, TN just outside of Knoxville.

Now to the car. This is my personal car that I have owned since last May and have done small detailing things to it over the months but never a correction. As you can see there were a few swirls from washing and deeper RIDS. The goal was to get to most of the RIDS and get about a 90% correction. This Ford paint isnt the best paint to begin with but I am content with the outcome.

Tools used:
Griots Garage DA 6 inch.
LC Hydrotech pads: Cyan and Crimson
Megs M105
Megs M205
Optimum Opti-seal

Any advice or tips are appreciated!
 
Haha thanks guys. Ihaveacamaro I have seen your videos on YouTube for the Garry dean wash method and m101 buffing and so on. Very informative! The only thing I'm not 100% happy with with my paint is directly in the sun you see little dots. Can't feel them and obviously weren't on the surface. Not sure if it is a factory paint defect or something I could get out with a little more work. Any ideas? From working on this car I am assuming the clear is relatively hard. Also if anyone has any ideas on how hard the paint is I could use that knowledge. I may try the DA pads with d300 (or maybe m101) on a test spot to see if I get the result I'm after.

I heard the paint is not soft, but not hard either especially for that generation. Haven't had to work on one just yet so can't say from personal experience.

Great looking car (Blue Oval kinda guy)
and did noone else notice his vid? shooting flames!! I think you need an insulator wax for that rear bumper!!

The dots in your paint are probably normal and could be solvent pop, acid stains, or a whole host of other things. If they are towards the front of the car (forward part of the hood and front bumper) they are likely sand blasting from driving the car.

You did awesome!

Todd, It is most likely this. The car has almost 100k miles, mostly hwy from previous owner so it make sense. Most of the places are on the hood and front fenders, but obviously they dont show up unless you are looking for them.
