Hi DC Team,

I am going to start buying all the require items for my first wash & wax. I would see if you guys can give me some advice if my below list is not correct, or if I am missing something. Thanks so much for your time!

2- 5 gallon buckets
2- Grit guards
1- Telescopic Pole
1- Brush attachment for telescopic pole (Are there an alternative to boar's hair, if so can you please give me the name or link?)
1- Can of Stoner's Invisible Glass Aersol (Which one is better? Aersol can or spray pump)

I am missing some MF towels, I have some from costco but they have a tag on them and the snitching are not good. Can someone please provide me with the right MF to use. Which one is best for glass cleaning? WW towels? How about drying?

Is there a car wash that's wax and wash together? I just want to do an easy wash first and then move to claying and waxing in the future.

I know i should get a sheepskin mitt, but if I have a good brush on a handle, then do I still need a sheepskin mitt?

Am I missing anything for a nice car wash? thanks!

As for the brush on a pole...go to walmart and get one thats microfiber. They are blue and the bonnet looks like dreadlocks. They work well and are much safer than a brush. In fact, dont use a brush on paint period. I also prefer the thick pile microfiber mitts over sheepskin.
For microfiber towels, Target used to sell some really nice and thick blue mf towels. For glass, pick up a pack of microfiber glass towels. They will work nicely with the Stoners (aerosol)
There are several differant types of drying towels but I prefer a large microfiber chamois.
There are also plenty of wash/wax combos that are good over the counter products such as Zip Wax, but keep in mind the wax in them is more of a drying aid and really offers no protection for your paint. I would suggest a good wax such as Meguires or Auto Glym HD for that.

thanks for you advice, but I can't seem to find the walmart pole and mb towel you are taking about, do you happen to have the brand or link? do you know if, " DP Rinseless Wash & Gloss " is a goo car wash + wax combo?

thanks

I don't have the link but in the store they are usually on the same shelf as the detail brushes, applicator pads, etc. Blue and silver telescope handle, and rectangle pad with blue microfiber bonnet. I've never used DP wash and gloss but I'm sure there are folks here who do. If its like Optimum No Rinse, it does offer some protection but its a lot differant to use than a traditional wash media.

If you're trying to go the easy route first, id just use that ice stuff for your waxing. Its much faster to put on and take off, and its safe to use in direct sunlight. It is, by no means, comparable to a normal paste wax, but if the customer doesn't wanna spend alot on a regular wax, ICE is a good upsell to fall back on. I use it from time to time for in between wax jobs. I also keep a bottle of germX around to remove tree sap and other like contaminents. Its cheap and works great.

so is this what my "normal" procedure should be?

1. rinse/water the car
2. put Optimum No Rinse
3. wax the car
4. put sealant on the car

is that it?

thanks.

So you want to do a rinseless wash rather than a traditional? If so, I dont believe you would need to water the car before hand. ONR doesnt usually require a pre rinse unless the vehicle is really dirty, and if it is, I dont suggest a rinseless wash anyway but thats just me. Your on the right track with wax and sealant, but do sealant first and let it cure before you wax if possible.
