First use with a Cyclo

So first we need a little background on this car.

In December of 2003 my wife says to me "the brakes are making a funny noise". I go out and look at the rotors :shocked

The front brakes were shot. Brake dust and bits of metal from the rotors all down the side of my car. We got the brakes fixed at AAA. Then I run down to Pep Boys and buy some Turtle wax rubbing compound (I didn't know about Autopia then, be easy on me:) ) I proceed to remove the embedded metal from the car. It took me about 4 hours to do it by hand and then I throw a coat of wax on it.

Fast forward. I discover Utopia on the web.

Read a ton, ask some questions and make my order.

Go to work. :up

Washed the car

Clayed, my wife helped me with the clay. She even did the roof. After she was done claying the car (I was polishing) I walk around to the front of the car and she is claying the front license plate.

PI 2 RC applied by Cyclo

AIOX2 by Cyclo

SGX1 by hand

Trim AIOx2/SGX1/then turtle wax tire wax. I like the TW Tire Wax on the tires and trim.

This is really a work in progress. I think that it looks 100 times better after the Cyclo work but I want it to look better. I have since ordered some PB polishes 1-3. I am just waiting for the weather and my schedule to cooperate.

The first picture is the front wheel well. This is a work in progress picture. Just imagine that the both sides of the car looked like this. Sorry I don't have any before pictures. Let’s just say it was horrible.

Pretty nasty isn't it?

Hmmm. Seems l din't quite have the attaching pictures to the post figured out as well as I thought I did.

Lets try it again.:)

Rear end. The next project is the rust on the towing package. I think that that thing is a rust magnet. I sanded it last summer and repainted it. Look at it now.:( Almost all of the Expeditions that I see have rust on the towing package.

This is my favorite shot. I really like how the SG looks.

So, the car has some work to go. I still need to really clean the wheel wells and do the inside of the front wheels. I also need to polish and seal all of the door seal. There are metal particles there. I need to re-do the towing package.

I would really like to hear your comments.

I really liked using the Cyclo. No vibration to speak of, almost no sling.

Let me know what you think.
