First time with Rotary...Pics

Well after trying to work with the PC, I just did not like it. Maybe i just wasn't comfortable with it. I've tried using Edge2k Pads to LC on my PC and it just didn't do it for me. So I decided to get a rotary, went to a local body shop/paint supply store and picked up a DeWalt 849. Used a Meguiars BP and put on a LC Pad. Definately recognized how much heat the rotary did produce after the breakdown. To me it was a tad warm. I only did my hood as practice and this is how it came out. Please any comments or advice...

Unfortunately I was unable to get a good shot...Basically the car was dull and was neglected with swirls, I'd say it's 90% Swirl Free...IMO

I like the PC, although it took about 6 months to get used to really how much it can do with it once you trust it. The best thing I like about it is using clay with the new attachment head they have for it. I clayed my entire M3, not the one pictured, today in two hours and it really did a great job, smooth as a mirror. I then changed the head out and buffed out the hand applied paste Carnuba (Griots). By the way, the best Carnuba on the market. So, I was finished with the entire car in 4 hours. Looks great, if I do say so myself.

Thanks...Yeah I don't know why I just wasn't comfortable with the PC. Going to a rotary was a big jump in my opinion of course with everyone always worrying about burning paint, I was hesitant at first but was reassured as I kept reading.

I kept in mind to just keep moving, and don't stop. I am truly happy that I had bought the Rotary, still getting use to it but I feel more comfortable using the rotary.

Any Recommendations on BP for the Rotary? Any BP better than the other??

I use a PC at home, and a rotary at work. Oddly enough, I don't polish much at home anymore, I take it all to work where I can use my makita...I can't stand how slow the PC works in comparison to the rotary...It drives me insane. I haven't polished a lot of cars with the rotary yet, maybe in the 100 ballpark, and I've only wrecked something twice...window trim once, and a rubstrip on the door...but that was my own fault for not taping it off, and both incidents happened when I was just starting out with a rotary.

I have told myself when summer pulls around again, I'll give my PC another chance, otherwise I'll buy my own rotary for home use.

Oh, another thing to keep an eye on...plastic heats up WAY faster than metal, so pay extra special attention while doing bumpers, spoilers, etc. anything plastic. It heats up VERY fast and is very easy to burn though.

Definitely will take that into consideration, I just love how it looks. I was admiring how much more reflective my hood was today.

I forgot to add that the wax I used was Meguiars NXT Wax. I've use P21S and just wanted to see the results with something else...
