Hey everyone just used a PC for the first time today. Im blown away! Never thought Id be able to remove swirls. Well, heres part of what I did, Im goin to finish the rest tomorrow. I practiced on my brothers car, he said I could experiment on it :woot2:

He hasnt washed his car since 2003 (no joke) (seriously, im not kidding) :soscared:

here was my process:

Attempted to clean wheels, did an ok job for the time i had, will clay them tomorrow, this stuff was BAKED on!

Bug and Tar on lower panels of car, (this dirt, tar, bug juice, and anything else you can think of has been on his paint for 3 years) NASTY!

Washed Twice

Dry

Clay (what a nightmare, had to remold clay 3 times per panel)

The fun part: (only hood has been done)

SSR 2.5 w/ orange DAS cutting pad

SSR1 w/ Green DAS polishing pad

Meg's #26 by hand

I think he really wants to start taking care of his car now, he will be buying a new one soon so hopefully i can get him addicted before then.

any tips on making these pics smaller?

Jim

now i feel like buying a PC and giving it a try. how much does it cost to get started (pc, pads, etc.)?

the size of the pictures are fine. if people wanna make it smaller, Ctrl + F11 will do the trick

Nice work! Smaller pics would be best for all who wish to view your work. It makes scrolling across the page a hassle. Try a photo hosting site, i prefer photobucket.com Im sure other will chime in a voice their preference.

Tip: when doing comparisons, place an object directly between the two sides in your photo...

Thanks everyone, Ill put some more pics up tonight, although it looks to be getting cloudy over here :nixweiss

misterbobo, i bought the kit from autopia's store, was $189.00. came w/ PC, pads, backing plate, and even a free bottle of sfx-2 polish i believe. It was definitely worth the money.

Patrick, thanks for the tip!

thanks everyone for the words of encouragement, ill be over there in about an hour finishing up the exterior, ill keep ya posted w/ some pics!
