Hello folks! This is my first post!
My name is Alex (Alejandro) and I live in San Jose, Costa Rica!
I just got my G100 / PC and begun to do some tests on my car. My car was swirl city after an improper QD'ing after driving on a VERY dusty road.
The first thing I did was to mask out a portion on the trunk lid, then I primed my brand new polishing pad with an "X" of M80 Speed Glaze, then put the PC cord over my shoulder and set the pad flat on the lid, turned it on at a slow speed, and gradually increased the speed up tp 5 OPM's. Then I worked the product in overlapping sweeps, left to right, up and down making sure to move the PC slowly. Stopped when the M80 was almost invisible, but not dry. Wiped with a quality microfiber. I repeated this 3 times. And got this:
Felt pretty good about myself, being my first time with aPC and all.
Then I decided to move over to different areas of the car, and do some more tests.
So I moved to the front fender. I used the same procedure.
Look:
I didn't tape this one, but as you can see, it looks pretty good.
But after looking at the fender from different angles I found this:
If you look at the fender at a certain angle, you can see some swirling or micromarring.
I'm pretty sure that the MF was clean when I removed the remaining product. Also I used another MF to clean off the excess buildup in the polishing pad between applications.
But upon closer examination I found this on my pad (look at the edges)
I'm pretty sure this is what caused the marring. Like I said I cleaned the excess on the pads every 2-3 applications. I think I'm not over saturating the pad, as there was no product transfer onto the velcro side.
Should I clean the pad with a toothbrush every 2-3 applications?
Well folks, that's about it. Sorry for the long post. Any tips or comments are welcomed.
