First time using the Cyclo, results, and need some advice/input...this is long
LOL. If I continue reading this kind of stuff I might get a bit more confused. For now, I'm going to stick with what I have. I've shelled out enough money on product for the time being. Resistance is futile. You might as well call VISA and ask for a credit limit increase right now. ;)

On the Jeep the combo of Pasta Intesiv and the PP worked out great. Probably better if I work the product a bit longer. After watching the videos above, I've learned where I was doing things wrong. i.e. going too fast, using too much polish, and not working the polish long enough. Good to hear. It's very satisfying when you get good results.

Based on what I've read, I'm no longer afraid to just try out the cyclo. It seems like it's not aggressive enough for me to really mess up my paint. Generally, that's true, but it is still possible...

When I get around to trying it on the Cadillac again, I'll post up the result. The caddy is currently in the shop for a sunroof issue. They told us they didn't know when we would get it back :wall:wall The part is on back order and they said it could be weeks. In the mean time, I'm driving a rental cadi so all in the world is good :D I've been wanting to bust out the tools and try to correct the paint on it. I think there's something wrong with me, LOL.
Nope, that sounds completely normal to me. :D

Actually, I've had some good learning experiences with service loaners and rental cars. Normally I enjoy having a vehicle I don't have to take care of, but sometimes, especially if I'm gonna be driving it for a while, I'll use it as a test-case.

LOL...well the loaner is white and I hit it with the halogen today  and it's full of swirls, spider webbing, and rids...and this on an '09...granted it does have 11K on it.

And I totally understand about spending money. I simply can't resist the urge to go buy new stuff. My compressor died this weekend so I need a new one so I can blow water away from cracks and crevices. I want a foam gun, I want a pressure washer, I wanna try some APC (don't have any and thought I'd get some to clean off tar and use it also to do wheels/tires), I want an electric leaf blower so I can blow dry my cars instead of using towels (I have Cobra Guzzlers), I wanna try a new QD (currently using Mother's, but heard Adams is good), I wanna try some of the Chemical guy's stuff, I wanna try some stuff from gloss it because I've read on here that it's amazing, I want, I want, I want....LOL.

I tallied up what I spent since coming to this site a couple of months ago and I'm at ~ $500 in products  I'm glad the Cyclo was free :D

This site has totally ruined me. Now I walk by cars and look at everyone's paint and see their scratches and swirls and think to myself, wow, I want to try and fix that....is this normal? LOL.

Any advice on other products to use?

Eh, product-wise I'd just play around with the stuff you have now. Well, I *would* buy some FK425.

The new air compressor and a foamgun, I'd buy right away, I couldn't get by without either. If you want to blow most (not all) of the water off your car, look into an AirWand; I really like mine but there's a knack to using it, just like with most stuff.

I have no idea what FK425 or an Airwand is.

Do you have recommendations on the different products? i.e. brands?

I'm going to get a foam gun and figured it'd be one from autogeek.

For a compressor, I haven't decided on one yet. My Craftsman oil less sucked and died after 2 years of use. I'm going to get an oiled unit.

I want some APC. I really want the APC to clean wheels, tires, and to get tar off. I understand that an APC can be used for all of that if mixed to the right solution right? And if I use an APC at too strong a strength, it'll remove my LSP right?

Heh heh, sorry to be inscrutable :o FK425 is a *very* nice QD that leaves things slick and glossy. See Finish Kare, Automotive, Marine, Aerospace, Mold Release Agents, Paint Contamination . The Air Wand is a special nozzle for leaf blowers that is quite good IME for blowing the water off, much better than the blowers' regular nozzles for this. I can't find my link to their website, but do a google and you'll find it.

What products in what categories? I probably use 1Z Polishes and Collinite waxes more than anything for exteriors.

That's the kind I have. I like the small bottle one as it's easier to use with the techniques I employ.

I probably can't help there as I have a big two-stage Craftsman, a huge thing that's hardwired/hardplumbed.

I don't use APCs much except for undercarriages (and the wheelwells of some daily drivers). I use shampoo for most wheels and Griot's Wheel Cleaner for the rest. I use Griot's Rubber Cleaner (though there are probably better choices) for tires. I remove tar with clay most of the time, and with solvents when that's not feasible.

I do use P21S TAW for engine compartments/etc. on vehicles that I'm doing for the first time, and I like EF High Intensity for the undercarriages/etc. of vehicles I don't keep dressed/waxed down there. But other than that I simply don't use APCs the way other people do, in part because they're so hard on LSPs/dressings/etc.

Accumulator, again thank you for your input. I've started gathering my list and will start buying more stuff throughout the winter getting ready for next season :D.
