First time using PC, before and after of wifes black car.....

Did my wife's car today cause it desperatly needed it.

Before washing

After washing you can really see the scratches all over the hood and whole car. No clue where they came from but they are horrible.

A couple hours later..... Only did one stage of polish and one coat of wax due to time but the pics speak for themselves.

The scratches look like they came from someone sitting stuff on the hood then dragging them off. Fortunately it looks like that no more. Great work.:)

Yup. My thought as well. The long very straight lines at those angles wouldn't happen from the local coin-op "Brush of Death" or the drying towels at the car wash.

Tell her to put her packages on the ground when she opens her door at the mall :D

Non-detail freaks tend not to think of things like this, and even if you tell them, they blow it off. Seeing the before/after photos may help to drive it home.

My boss got the message about the local car wash when I showed him the before/after of the black Maserati, but unfortunately, he won't take the time to wash his wife's QX56 himself. $29.95 a month and he gets unlimited washes at the local car wash, his (pearl white) Q45 has always looked good, so he has no reason to believe the black QX56 will be any different.

He's been warned :)

Looks like you have a huge improvement. I instantly recognized that scratch pattern you show...I've seen it before.

Thanks for the compliments everyone. It could have been better in my opinion but for a first run at it and being limited on time I'm happy.

I love the PC, I know everyone says it is easy to use and does the work itself but I didn't think it would be that easy. I'm in love with that thing.

I used the Meg's Yellow pad with SFP and then NXT by hand. Had the PC on speed 6 and did a pattern that probably went over the surface 4-6 times at a nice steady motion across. I've used a buffer before to cut and buff paint so I went about the speed that I would use a buffer at.

And the scratches look to me like she set laundry basket on the car and drug it off but she says she didn't. The thing that gets me is the exact same scratches are all over the top of the car and I know she wouldn't set anything up there. And they are also on the passenger side and she always digs stuff out of the car from the driver side. At any rate, most of them are gone or much less noticeable so its about time to put the for sale sign in it. Kind of hesitant to do so because we have kid #3 due in a week or so and can't do without a car. Need to find one to replace it and then try and sell the dub quick.

After it is all said and done the car still has these little spots all over it that look like pollen but doesn't come off. I might do the car again but start out with clay to see if it removes them. I can't tell if they are on the paint or in it.

At any rate, the dub was more or less practice to make sure I didn't mess anything up before I do my car hopefully next week. The paint is in nearly perfect shape cause I try and maintain it real well but figured I might as well try and make it look better.
