Well my pc just got here today and i plan on doing my first "real" detail this weekend. I have a small arsenal right now. I have a 2006 chevy cobalt ss, victory red by the way(very bright red). Considerable marring, yet very minor. I planned on megs #9, then #7 or vanilla moose, finished with collinites 845 all applied by da. What does everone think?? Any opinions????

Well, I'm not really familiar with the aggressiveness of #9, and #7 is a glaze. If you have minor swirling you could use a glaze and possibly hide quite a bit of said swirling without going the polish route. If you end up using the #9, and again I don't know how abrasive that is, I don't see the need to use #7 followed by 845. It may look nice, but you could probably go from polishing to LSP application without the glazing step. If you have pictures of your swirling that would really help. Perhaps others with more experience with Meguiar's products will chime in.
