First QEW Experience

Well, I have two more uses under my belt. I did the 4Runner and an Expedition today.

**I found the secret method to quick and successful QEW use**

Use two people!! My girlfriend helped me today, and what a difference it made. We got the 4Runner done in 20 minutes and the Expedition in 30 minutes.

I am getting much more comfortable using it and liking it more and more. I still need much more practice.

Excuse my ignorance, but I'm not really familiar with QEW. Can someone explain to what qew stands for and what the advantages to it are. I get the idea it is a quick wash/ protectant. This sounds like a good idea to me, as I live in Michigan.

Protect-All Quick & Easy Wash, here are links to two threads that are pretty informative:

thanks for the info. I assume by what I've read that it's also ok to use on a salt covered car without rinsing.

QEW does have limitations, and I would personally run a salt covered car through a coin-op or at least give it a good rinse first.

All 3 cars that I have done have been run through a coin-op first, due to the amount of dirt and salt on the car (dang snow).

so your using this as a car wash and when you place it in the water it didnt have any suds? Well did it do a very good job cleaning up the paint and did you notice any micromarring? (im using 56k now so i didnt get to see the pics)

Yes, it is the car wash and looks like semi-oily water (no suds at all). It does appear to do a very good job of cleaning, and I have not noticed any marring.

My only problem with running through the coin-op first is that by the time I'm home the car is frozen.....so what I usually have to do is wait until late night and use the pressure wash then QEW it in the bay, seems to be my only option and it's such a hassle but it would be 10x's more difficult w/o QEW!

And to think 3 years ago when I first mentioned QEW on Autopia, I was met with massive skepticism. ;) I found out later a couple others here also used QEW but were afraid to mention it knowing what the reaction would be. :lol

How many people told Columbus he would fall off the edge of the earth?

The 1st shipment of QEW I received I had sent by UPS to where I work. I had a few people ask what I had got, when I told them they pretty much told me I was stupid. So my second shipment I had sent to my home address. I have had great success using QEW but I decided to keep that secret from the people at work:xyxthumbs
