First Post in Years!!!!

It's been a very long time for me.

I thought I would post a few after pics of a Corvette we had come through our shop here in hopes that my business partners (Anthony Orosco) Son Cam would respond to questions about products used and the process. He's done all the work and applied and cured the Modesta BC-05 and BC-06 coating. He's expressed an interest in posting here but is a little timid about it. He's a great kid and does great work. Like his Dad.

Welcome home Ron, and welcome Cam !

Great work on a beautiful car.

Chime in when you feel like it, we're a fun group.

Welcome back! It looks like you guys do great work! Is that the shop in front of the Stingray in the 3rd pic? It looks like an old gas station.

Guys and Gals -

I have personally been in this Shop in San Antonio, Texas, and it is absolutely beautiful, organized, and very clean.

Awhile back, these good men washed my just driven 2,000 miles from California Black Grand Cherokee, took of a bunch of bugs off of the exterior, totally dialed in the Interior, and gave the old Opti-Guard Coating a new lease on life; no scratches, extra unwanted anything, just a perfect, beautiful, washing and cleaning up of my vehicle.. It looked and felt just perfect !

Every vehicle in their shop that day looked great !

I met Cam briefly, and he is just a great guy like his Dad, Anthony..
Cam, you are doing some incredible work - thanks for sharing it it with us!

Ron, thanks for posting this up - great to meet you too..

Tell us about the Coating - Modesta, what was the process, how many layers, is it easy to apply, etc...
We are all so proud of your, Cam !
Thanks !

Great to you folks back on the forum Ron and Cam! Say hi to Anthony and hope to see more photos of the great work that comes out of the shop.

Hello all, thank you for the warm welcome to my son Cameron. He is learning the ropes here with us, in fact he is out pushing dents on a hood right now under Rons watchful eye.

Cameron has been wanting to post up his work for a good while now but has felt his work is not up to par with many of you posting so Ron kinda got the ball rolling for him. He is now eager to post some replies to ya'll.

His picture taking will develop as time goes on also.

Take care,
Anthony

Anthony,

I remember years, and years, and years ago, you were using a hvlp gun to do optiseal. I sent you a message asking about the process. You sent me
a detailed reply on how to do it, what I needed etc. Then followed up a few weeks later to see if I had done it, or had anymore concerns. So I am sure
that Cameron has had a great education on how to beautify a car.

So again thank you for years ago. (btw I hear you are doing same type of thing with opticoat)

Hello Dan, I remember you stopping in and it was a pleasure visiting with you. Stop in again next time you're down this way!

Thank you for the kind words,

Yes I remember, and glad to help.

Yes I do the same with Opti-Coat and can get great results using a gun. It saves time and me personally I like spraying over hand application.

A clean room with down draft would be awesome and will be in our next shop. We are seeking to open a second location this new year (2016) if the good Lord wills!

Hello Autopia world! I first want to thank you for the kind words on my work, it really means a lot to me. I will admit I was a bit timid as my dad and Ron said as I felt my work was not exactly up to par with some of the work on here, but I would definitely love to elaborate on the process and steps I used on the vehicle. The first and most important is of course the initial wash. I then decontaminated the surface with a clay bar. After the rinse and drying it was time to carefully inspect the paint. The paint was in great shape other than some light scratches along the body and some heavier ones up on the roof and on the passenger door. The polishing was done with a Rupesx LHR21 and a yellow Rupes polishing pad with Sonax Nano Polish. After removing any oils on the paint using an ISO wipe down it was time to apply the primer using the same polisher with a white Rupes finishing pad. Then it was time to apply a thick layer of Modesta BC-05 to the paint double checking then checking once more to ensure there is no more excess left on the paint. We had the vehicle on the lift from the start to easily clean the wheels and wipe down with a grease & wax remover. Our gun was loaded with Modesta BC-06 and we sprayed two thick coats to each wheel waiting about 30 minutes between each coat. The last and final step was to put the infrared lamps on the vehicle and wheels, checking with an IR thermometer until each panel and wheel reaches about 150° Fahrenheit to cure the coating. As far as the installation process Stokdgs, it's definitely not a wipe on, wipe off. If left too long to dry the coating can become very hard, very quick. Being sure there is no excess left and no streaking is a must as it will harden and be very visible later on. But the results are worth the involved prep time and effort put into the actual application. Of all the coatings I've tried, the Modesta coatings are by far the best in gloss enhancement. We're pitting it against a few other coatings to see how the durability measures up to each, but I have high hopes that the Modesta will be of the best in protection and durability as well. Once again thank you for the compliments on my work, it was fun and an enjoyable time making this car look as beautiful as I could. Hope to have many more to post.

Welcome to the forum Cameron. Pretty great heritage you have to follow. Good group of people here, have fun.
