First order of LC pads (which ones)??

From what I have read I am getting the 6 pack since that is all my budget can take right now espeically since I am ordering a lot of other stuff from Autogeek!!

I just wanted to make sure I am getting the right colors for my application. I have a 2005 CTS-V (silver) that has light to VERY moderate swirls and just a few baby stratches. I have gotten 2 orange pads, 2 white ones, and 2 black ones.

I am getting the orange pads to apply the M105 and the white pad to apply the M205 and the black pads to apply the Ultima Paint Guard Plus sealant. What do you guys think?

Should I not even use the orange pad and just use the white pad for my first polish or do I need something more abrasive? Somebody told me that I needed to use the black pad for the M205, but according to autogeek.... I sould be using the white pad for polish.

Help me out since I want to order everything tonight in order to get the labor day speical that expires today.

Thanks guys!!!

i have the 6 " yellow cutting, white polishing and gray finishing...

4" orange cutting, white polishing and red finishing

I think you should be alright with those pads. If I were you, I would start with the white pad, and if it is not aggressive enough, then bump up to the orange. You should use the white with the M205, only because the LC Blacks have no cutting ability to them. They are similar to the LC Reds in that they are good for glazes, sealants, etc. and not correction.

The blue MF applicator that it comes with.

And it looks like you have a pretty good pad selection picked out.

You may want to consider 4" pads however

Agreed. Though I would have at least two extra high quality similar MF applicators on hand. I am constantly dropping my UGPG applicator pad. I swear the thing is half alive.

Would a good quality cobra mf towel do just fine for applying the UPGP? I ordered the UPGP, pads, M105, M205 and Griot's wax and I have not received the products yet so I have no idea what the UPGP applicator looks or feels like.

Yep, I dunno how anybody gets paint corrected using larger pads on the PC; sure doesn't work for me :nixweiss

M205 has differing levels of aggressiveness based on which pad you use it with. It's one of the few mild products that I often use with an orange pad (thanks to ebpcivicsi for the suggestion). Orange, white, black...they all have their uses when it comes to M205.

No. I have been using these...

Ultima Autospa Microfiber Applicator

or these

Blue Perl Microfiber Applicators

or for tighter areas

Cobra Microfiber Applicator Pads spread car care products evenly & neatly. Cobra microfiber is nonabrasive and safe on clear coat finishes.

The Ultima Autospa microfiber applicator looks just like a normal microfiber sponge that you buy from Wal-Mart. Eventhough it might not be as good..... do you guys think that the microfiber sponge from Wal-Mart/Target would do just fine??

It is not like I am going to be pressing it hard into the paint so I figure that a lesser quality microfiber applicator would do just fine!
