First impression on Covercraft Weathershield HD cover

After a long telephone discussion with the manufacturer it has been determined that the seams are what scratches the most on these covers, but I prevented this by having them add the flanel lining, which was free of charge by the way, all I had to do was pay for shipping one way and it IS possible to order a brand new cover with flanel lining for no additional charge.

Glad to hear it worked out for you. :xyxthumbs Back in 2001 I ordered a WS (not the HD version) and wound up sending it back and exchanging for a Noah. The reason was that the harsh seams possibly scratching the paint really concerned me. Plus the WS was so lightweight that taking it on and off was a real problem with the slightest breeze.

I believe the WS had just come out at this time and I was probably among the first to invest in one. I guess I wasn't the last person to send it back due to the seams so now they've come up with the "fix" of sewing the flannel onto the seams. They should just do this from the get-go rather than run the risk of having a buyer get angry after discovering his car is scratched up from the seams. As I recall they really were harsh.

I was wondering if I was being paranoid but I guess I wasn't.

:)

Jason- any pics of the flannel lining? I'm seriously shopping for covers for the Lexus now and I'm leaning toward the WS HD after reading the reviews here. How did you go about ordering the HD if it's not stocked? Did you have to call/e-mail them with your specific order?

'Preciate it.

MongooseGA..yes you can just call them directly. Cheapest prices I found were at webcovers.com.

They had mine in stock. Great choice in a cover. You won't be disappointed.

Jason said he paid ~$400 for an Expedition. Will it be any cheaper to cover my Lexus SC? I didn't notice a way to get a custom fit cover on the website.
