First Hummer

 :doh

Oops, I guess there is a double entendre in that title!! Well anyhow now that I have your attention.....

Okay, I think I have found my least favorite car to detail! This H2 is gorgeous and the paint is in pretty good condition, but man.....who'd a thunk there were so many nooks and crannies!! Not too mention, this is no sissy lala soccer mom urban assault car. The owner owns a construction firm and uses this truck like it should be used!

Anyhow, 9 hours later and here's the end product.

Beautiful man, absolutely beautiful.

How do you like #40? Is it strictly a dressing, or a cleaner as well?

Great job on the paint and interior :goodjob

I really like the #40 because it is a cleaner as well as a protectant. The cleaning abilities are very mild but it does well on all but a really soiled interior. Some people don't like the chemical smell (like original Armor All), but I think it really isn't bad and it dissipates pretty quickly.

The only thing I don't care for is it seems to "leach" out of the vinyl and needs to be buffed clean. Minor issue, but one none the less

Speaking of "double entendre".. a Hummer dealer in the area had an ad in the Father's Day Sunday edition of the newspaper that said "Don't you think Dad Deserves A Hummer" ;)

Nice job on the H2 SUT!

Yup...Hummers are the worst to do from a professional's prospective - so much plastic to tape off, awkard panels, and the works...

I haven't seen one that didn't have horrendous orange peel though - this would keep me from buying one for sure!

Yea RAG that was my thought as well. I was not super impressed with the quality of paint on the vehicle. It seems to me that for what people pay for these vehicles, Hummer should pay more attention to the paint quality. Owners deserve it!

A great transformation from something dumpy-looking to something to be proud of. Hope the owners appreciated all that work.

I agree, Hummers are tough to detail. Odd angles, hood straps, brush guard (if equipped) is too close, etc. I've done several and wash one weekly so I am pretty used to the oddness.

Excellent work, the paint looks terrific and just incredible work on the interior. :up

Thank you Scott! Having seen your work, your opinion means a lot to me!! PS...took your advice on the OPP and OPC for hot environments. Just came today from TOL , can't wait to test out!

Talk about a lot of work - today I did a stetch limo H2, and I had to break out the wool with some serious pressure and RPMs because the morons who repainted it during construction did some horrible work...so I re-leveled the clear to mask the horrendous DA sanding scratches that were underneath...and it worked :)

Must be nice to have your own stretch H2 to go party in, along with 4 other bad-arse vehicles! Dude probably isn't even 35 years old either. My new "best client" for sure!
