First frozen shut door of the season!!!

We had our first really cold day in Jersey!!! I went to open my door and nearly pulled off the handle. A couple tugs later and I was able to get it. I saw something on tv where they said to treat the rubber seals with silicon. What do you guys use to prevent your doors from freezing shut?

It's kinda tough when it did what it did yesterday and changed from 35° and raining to 20° and snowing in a half hour; all that rain around the seals just freezes.

Any kind of trim dressing may help, but nothing may have helped yesterday.

I have no experience with it, but would well waxed (with a very slick wax) door jambs help to pull apart the frozen part a bit better?
