First experience with CS...

So what do you attribute all the hazing problems people are getting? Myself included....You said before we were all using too much product. what do you think it could be from?

What are you applying CS over?

How many sprays per panel?

Has your applicator been washed?

What is your temp and humidity?

Are you working in the product to the panel?

Sorry for the amount of questions, but they are necessary to solve the problem.

Done many cars and am asking for a lot of people that had the same problem. 1 spray per panel, on top of ZAIO or Z-5 Pro. I am in FL, so 80 degress pretty much all winter this year. Working with the pad that they supplied.

Have you used Z6 or similar prior to application? I don't know if you have ever tried to apply it over Z8, but that can sometimes cause some streakiness. How long have you been working in the panels? Typically, for instance, if I am doing a door, I will work the product for about 15 or so seconds. I know I keep saying 1 spray per panel, but you could try what I typically do when applying Z5pro or Z2pro, which is keep applying product on the paint until you don't see it anymore. I have been able to get a couple panels done with one spray lately and then when I don't see it on the panel, I just respray the applicator.

Betcha it's the humidity. I've had problems with product streaking and post-curing haze that I *never* had up North. I'll be trying Opti-Seal soon so I can tell you if it suffers from the same problem.

We had dozens of people asking about the same problem and the people all said the answer was "too much product". Now it seems that is not the answer at all.

It could possibly be the humidity. Are you guys that are having trouble using it in the shade or sun?

You are jumping to conclusions. What you may be calling too much may still be more than I am using now. if you research my postings about CS you will note that I was getting about 8-10 vehicles/oz. The likely scenerio is that I was using too little to get the even better "WoW" effect from a perfect finish (the last 2-5% gains are very difficult to achieve) and you might be still using too much. The majority of users have not had a problem with what you have described, so it is not something that is inherent in the product. Personally, I have not had a hazing problem during beta-testing CS in many environments over the last 8 months or so.

The fact that you have not found one vehicle that CS has worked on appears very strange. Not sure what to say. All we can do is point you in the right direction....:nixweiss

If your haze is still present after using Z6, the haziness is in your finish, not the CS. No one has had a problem achieving the full effect of CS from any small residual removal when followed by Z6 or Z8 buff.

Than again, maybe CS is just not for you. Place it on Abay and move on.

That's what I did with many items that others have had success with but I couldn't match their results. I chalk it up to experience, didn't blame the manufacturer, post on every thread of "my" failure (note my failure) or childishly irritate those who had success with a peculiar product.

I'm not sure what the big fuss is over a little streaking. You can after all just rub it in and everything is fine.

My personal gripe with the product is the idea that we can't wash our applicators. My applicators get dirty, thats a reality I'm sure many of us face when cleaning cars. Maybe I missed a spot here or there, the applicator accidentally falls, I accidentally rub the applicator over/under the body (ex: under the side skirts) etc. - not to mention, when I rub ANYTHING on rubber trim it stains the applicator.

Then again, the only issue with washing the applicator is it may cause streaks, so refer back to my first lines hehe :)

Never had a streaking problem and I wash my applicators (rotation of 10 pads). As I mentioned in my earlier post there is a washing segregation regimen that must be followed.

Having only 1 applicator pad, its a bit of a waste just throwing it in by itself to be washed. Never the less I'm going to adopt your technique

I've never experienced a streaking issue and I'm pretty sure, if anything, I've been using way too much--a bad habit of mine that I seem to do with a lot of products. :o

Try using a foam hand pad instead of the cotton applicator. I find that cotton/MF pads absorb product where foam keeps it right on the surface. I get better results with CS using foam.

Edwin,

I didn't have time to put on Z-CS on my trunk and spoiler. I was so focused on removing the swirls. I think I did a great job removing 98% of the swirls. I used Menz IP that didn't do anything, then SFX-1 which got some, then I moved to 3M RC which made it look fantastic.

Afterwards, I did the usual Z-PC by PC, then applied Z-AIO by PC, then did 2 coats of Z5p *enabled* ZFX, and 1x of Z2P by hand. I did not have time for Z-CS so I'll wait for tomorrow afternoon to apply Z-CS. ** I WILL POST PICS ON THIS THREAD TOMORROW** to show the pad I'm going to use to apply ZCS and after application and then a pic of the panels dried.

I'm sure if I applied CS it would of hazed up a little since I already have 3 fresh coats of Zaino on it. Don't want to overload it, so I guess it's best to wait the next day.

Sounds like a great plan Michael. 98% prep is definitely the way to go. Any LSP will make that type of finish look great. Like yourself I send 90% of most details during the prep. Zaino is just the appetif after all that work.

Can't wait to see the pictures. Acura(metallic grey) + meticulous prep + Zaino =

Thanks Edwin... Hopefully there will be enough daylight, but I'll do a quick Z-6 wipedown then apply Z-CS ASAP so it can be clear.
