First Detail

Hey guys,

This is my first new car and my first real detail. It was taken by a freind of mine because I do not have a camera right now. Hopefully I will be able to get a digital camera here soon. I only have one small picture of the car. I wish you could see the transformation of the wheels. I bought them used and the previous owner completely abused these beautiful wheels. I used Mag Gold cleaner on the wheels along with X-Treem polish to get the abrasion and corrosion out. For the car I use MAG NXT car wash and NXT wax with black majic for tire dressing. i am scared out of my mind to touch a rotary, so I do everything by hand for now. the wheel and tire combo was my biggest goal because they were completely horrible when i got them. i have put about 4 hours alone into the wheels.

i am still working on finding a solution to cleaning and protecting the inside of my truck. anyways, sorry for the lack of pictures and the only one i have is so small.

i would start with the dual action polisher like the porter cable. works like a charm and almost impossible to screw up.

the car looks great. just visit some of our sponsors on the left side of the screen and they have everything you would need to detail a car with. they have great service and i belive some of them still have a discount when you are a member at DC

nice car! ive noticed the paint on the scions are very well done. the paint looks great. and the wheels look good from what i see. good selection on wheels tho. they match the car perfectly and distinguish it wuite a bit from other scions without making it look abnoxious.

only thing bad i can say is to please be careful with blackmagik tire dressing. its high in petroleum dissilates (oily) and have notice that particular brand to brown tires a lot lot quicker than other oily brands like eagle one wet. get a hold of some stoners.

definately dont jump into the rotory yet, especially not on u're new car. get a pc when u feel ready. ready time would be "as sooon as u get the car".. lol.. its really easy and basically idiot proof.

when u get some time in the near future to work on the paint try applying some "Meguiar's ColorX" before the nxt and watch that paint just POP!

Thanks alot guys! So joyride, you suggest the COLORX right before applying the NXT wax or the NXT car wash? What exactly does COLORX do for the car's exterior? Also, what other products are full proof for a noob like myself that will help me to enchance my truck to its fullest(for now) potential?
