One of my roomate's friends wanted me to detail his car for him since I seem to do a good job on my and my family's cars.
Since I don't own a shopvac, I told him I'd do an exterior detail only, but I still drove it over to the local carwash and used their 75-cent vacuum.
As far as the condition of the paint, it was very weird. He bought the car from a dealer auction, and used the money he saved to repaint most of the car. There was a god awful amount of orange peal on most of the side panels, and a horrible oxadized section on the trunk. It was so bad, I thought after first it was a piece of black plastic before realizing it was paint!
Due to the on and off rain showers, I only had enough time to work on the paint. I'm going back tomorrow to finish the wheels, tires, wheel wells and windows. So, only some teaser shots for now. :waxing: I'll update the thread tomorrow with pictures of the whole car.
Washed w/ Meguiars Gold Class Shampoo/Conditioner
Clay w/ Mothers California Gold
Rewashed due to rain
DACP #83 on Sonus Orange pad by PC on 3.
#80 Speed Glaze on Sonus Blue pad by PC on 5.
#16 by hand (all the local bodyshops say they can order it, but yet everybody here says it's discontinued??)
Voilla. This was my first time using the Sonus pads, and I absolutely love them. I had been using the Meguiars Soft Foam Buff before and these Sonus blow those away.
Swirls and water spots everywhere!
Horribly oxidized rear trunk panel.
After clay, #83 and #80.
More swirls. Before.
After.
Obligatory hood shot.
Bling!
I used my roomate's 2.1MP Samsung.
