I am going to polish my first corvette. A 1978 yellow that does not looked to be waxed but maybe once in its life. I need to bring it back to life. My question is: do I use the same steps. I use with a steel car. Wash, clay, corse polish (menzurna fg 400) then fine polish (menzerna sg4000.) I use a random orbital with yellow and.white pads.

The paint might be SS rather than CC. SS paint dries out and needs polishing oils. Meguiars M7 is pure polish with a high oil content. The recommended method to use M7 on highly oxidized paint is to apply and let set over night. I've seen this done as a first step but I am curious in other opinions on the order of product application also.
