First clay job in progress

Like, O M G, I can't believe what the Clay Magic did to my 6 1/2 year old OEM painted hood and fenders!!! It's like they're made of silk now. Totally smooth, and I mean totally, as in there isn't a dern thing to interrupt the silky smoothness as I was running my hand across the paint. I stopped for the night, but in the am will resume with the passenger side fender, roof, trunk, spoiler and C-pillars. Thanks to everyone on this forum, and especially theveed for that great video he posted a while back. And you fellow noobs out there, go for it. Use the search button, print stuff out, read it and then go buy what you need. Later:up

I love watching people's reactions the first time they use clay. I especially love watching people slide right off their fenders when they lean against their car and don't realize how slick the surface is now. lol :xyxthumbs Glad you had a good experience!
 
Thanks for the encouragement guys, I appreciate it. Once I'm done with the clay, I might hit the car with Meg's SMR, but it will definitely be getting a coat of S100. I'll post pics when I'm done.

Anyway, is your rise a daily driver there in Florida? Unless you are willing to put in the time to reapply it relatively frequently. Even in the summertime sun here in PA, wax is a gonner sooner than I like it to be. Because my car is black, I am partial to a carnuba depth, so I have topped the polymer coats of Klasse AIO and Super Glaze with Pinnacle Souveran. It seems to provide a good base protection while maintaining clarity, and the topper of wax seems to soften the brilliance a bit to provide a little more depth.



Any way you go, the clay is a GREAT product to start with. You finish will remin smooth for quite some time! :xyxthumbs

Thanks, and I hear you loud and clear on the durability issue. Even though my car is garaged every night, it does get driven every day. I'm pretty much experimenting right now, with the S100. Ultimately, I'll probably use the Blackfire system on it and top with S100. Thanks for the tip :cool:
