just bought my pc and im about to go at it on my black nissan frontier. the paint is in excellent condition except some hologram type swirls on the driver's side door and minor water spot etching on the hood.



so here's the plan



Wash

Clay

Wash (i know i know, it makes me feel better though)

DACP Yellow pad whole truck

AIO X 2

SG X3 (12 hours between)

S100



does this look right??? do i need something such as #9 or SMR after the DACP?



Also what pad do you guys use to apply AIO and SG, im going to use the Lake Country 7.5's

Your going to want to wait 24 hours between the SG coats.

I used a black LC 7.5" pad to apply the AIO and SG (could probably use a white pad for the AIO though).
 
Is the yellow pad necessary with the DACP ? I say this because I had some mild water spots, as you do, all over my hood and roof. I was able to get them out with the PC and some Pinnacle Paint Cleaning Lotion (less abrasive than DACP) and a white 7.5" LC pad. I'm not a Klasse guru, but maybe the AIO alone would take them out ? Just a thought.

I guess you're buying or bought the LC 7.5s from topoftheline ?
 
I used a PC on my girlfriend's 99 Solara (electric blue) that had water spots etched into the paint. I used Meguiars Deep Crystal paint cleaner followed by AIO all with a CMA white pad. Not only did it take out all of the water spots, but it removed just about all of the swirl marks too! I used the PC on a speed setting of 4. This was the first car I used my PC on and I can't believe how good it came out! Not to mention the girlfriend is totally psyched! Car looks better than when she bought it.

I've never used Klasse AIO or DACP before but this is just me. If you DACP the truck and the paint is in excellent shape is it really necessary to AIOx2 ???? one would think that 1 pass with both DACP and AIO would suffice if the paint is in good shape, just my thinking:nixweiss ,,,,,,,91
 
Typical reasons for AIO x2 tend to be the first coat will clean and all that... the second coats will cover anything you may have missed, and allow you to be a little more picky.



It's like doing anything else twice... the second time is kind of an insurance that you got everywhere, and to do where you did get twice so it's that much better
 
The 2xAIO usually is 1 pass, with AIO, followed by another, then buff. Doing one coat of AIO, buffing off, then doing another coat, does little for you, since you will be removing any of the base polymer and fillers that you just applied.
 
while reading other posts i've decided to add #9 between DACP and AIO. since its my first time i know the DACP will probably haze up.
