Finishing with UPPP??

Question for you guys...



I have a bunch of new clients coming to have their cars done soon. Some of them I consider to be lightning rods for new areas of business. For example, one guy is head of a ~500 person company, in which I have a friend who is passing out my fliers. The guy who has already signed up is going to be used as a sample for everyone else to inspect my work, and then hopefully give me their business...



So i'm a little nervous...



I was considering adding a layer of UPPP on top of my normal combo, just to give it that extra pop when I deliver the car back to the workplace.. I know it doesn't last too long, but the initial reaction is what I need.



My question is this: Will adding the UPPP hurt any of the previous work i've done? I haven't inspected his car yet, so I don't have a solid product list on what i'll use, but if UPPP will hurt whatever else I do, then i'll stay away..



For example, if I go DACP-NXT paste-UPPP. Will the NXT paste still be there after the UPPP leaves?



I guess I just want to use it because it looks so good after initial app. But the durability scares the crap outta me....
 
Actually, the "UPPS" (I think is what your referring to) is acually quite good, and durable. Its as good as the rest of the spray products currently being marketed. I rarely have time anymore to really take care of my truck, so it gets either some Opt Spray Wax or UPPS, and i know im covered for a couple months at least, with an occassional spritz of QD after a wash. I think the UPPS would outlast the NXT's durability though. NX is good, but I just didnt want to have all that prep work dissapear after 3-5 weeks of So Cal sun......Protection (for me at least) felt kind of "thin" with NXT.

As for using the DACP, NXT route, you may want to reconsider your polish as thats not the easiest road to returning the customer there keys. Is it effective? Absolutely. Should it be part of a regular detailing routine? That choice is yours, but if I needed results that DACP could provide, I'd go with something a little more user friendly.......
 
If I understand your questions, I don't think you want to put UPPS on top of a wax. UPPS is a sealant spray which does exceptionally well topping sealants, like UPP, WG, etc., however, generally not good to layer sealants on top of waxes.



UPPS, being a spray sealant, works and acts alot like a QD, but, resist the temptation to use it as such over the wax. Use a more traditional QD (like S&G, NXT SD, etc), or booster (Crystal Mist, QD+) to give them the extra bling and pop at delivery.
 
Depending on the color of your client' s car you may want to try this combo: DACP, AIO, UPPx2. The AIO - UPP combo is a known winner for cars that are white. Super crisp and "poppy". If it is a red or black car there are many combos you could try: Polish, Clearkote RMG, Clearkote YCW, and Clearkote CMW OR Polish, FMJ, Natty's Blue (esp. for navy blue) OR Polish, WG Sealant, Souveran. These are the current products i use. And for silver I finish with Pinnacle Signature or P21s over a sealant like ExP (the ExP also looks hellagood on red). I don't know if you have these products or not, but I just making some suggestions.



Whatever you do, don't add UPPP onto the wax layer. It should go under it. Good luck and hope you land all 500 employees!! I live in Lancaster so shout out if all 500 become too much.....I'll help a brutha out :grinno:



NExt process for me to try is the FK1 series. Weee!

Although NXT is marketed as a 'wax', its actually a pure synthetic, or sealant. Applying a sealant spray over it won't be an issue.
 
If I understand your question it seems like you don't want to change your process but are looking for something to spray on a finished car to give it that special look and you don't care if that look falls off after the car hits the first bump in the road.

I can appreciate that thinking.



If I were to choose from the products I have this would be what I'd use.

1. Zaino Z8 - looks good on everything

2. Mothers FX Spray Wax and QD - super shiney and slick, OTC, best bang for the buck

3. Long Haul Truck Gloss - Dripping oil wet look, under rated and cheap

4. Mother Show Class QD - OK, but better for claying

5. OCW - good stuff but it takes a educated eye to appreciate it

6. Megs NXT QD - Forget about it, the car will look beter before you put it on



I've heard all the great things about FK 425 but have not tried it yet.

This is my opinion only and most likely not the view of all.
