Finishing with compound?

I have a quick question, anybody ever finish with a compound? Because the point of a polish is to remove the haze left by a compound, now what if you use a high quality compound and it finishes off with in my opinion no haze? I did a car recently using megs m105 and fg 400 and in my opinion it finished off completely amazing with no haze at all.

Certainly, if the finish you achieve meets or exceeds your expectations and those of the Client, then you are done..

The new compounds of today that cut and finish great along with the pads that also cut finish great are there for anyone who wants to try them out..

Sounds like you are on the way... Have you tried Meguiars 101 yet? :)

No i havent tried m101 yet but heard that its really really good, have you?
 
It is really good.

Depends a lot on the paint. The harder the paint, the more likely you can. Soft (especially black) paint is less likely too finish out good enough.

The new compounds (and pads) have come a really long way. As Dan said, use your eyes.

I have never got a 100% finish from M101, even when using it supercharge D300. Generally, I can get it close, but I think my experience with M105 gives me an edge with that product.

I bought Meguars 101 years ago when it was first introduced in Europe and NOT the USA. So, had to find a guy who could buy it there and ship it back here.

Cost about twice as much for the product to do it this way..

I have used it many times and it is very user friendly compared to Meguiars 105, but I also found out years ago that if I keep Meguiars 105 moist in the beginning, when it starts to want to quit on me and dry out, it will continue to work and as Todd Helme has already said, M105 can finish down beautifully.

It is also very good on glass and anything chrome.

It is my fingernail mark killer on all door handle cups, and with Qtips around all letters, numbers, and badges that cant be removed...
