Finishing pads

If I used a finishing pad on my PC and applied another layer of EX-P to my car would this remove anything I previously applied? For example, would it remove VM? Thanks.

It probably will remove more than if you applied by hand because of the friction created via the PC. Its hard to say because you have a high oil content glaze, topped by a supposedly pure sealant. IMO that means the EX-P wouldn't bond, if it does bond, correctly. So it really is all speculative.

Poorboys makes their products to be compatible with all other products, from the owner himself EX-P is compatible with VM, and any other glaze for that matter.

I know what the manufacturers claims are and what physically makes sense in my head. If it is compatible with VM, then IMO it must have some cleaners (maybe they are the "special cleaners" like in NXT that know what to remove and what to stay) but it doesn't make sense for something to bond to oil.

The minor things that VM hid on my car were not visible after the application of EX-P. On top of this, its a pure sealant, no cleaners.

It is possible for a sealant to NOT require a bare surface like zaino, SG, blackfire, etc.

If you say that you know something cant bond to oil, why do carnaubas work? Why use glazes at all?

Many people, myself and scottwax I know for sure have used this combo with no problems or reduction in protection length. No signs are prevalant that it didnt bond, no lifting after a few days since application.

Waxes do not bond to paint, they just sit there and can sit on top of the paint or the glaze. That's why it makes sense to put a glaze underneath a carnauba. If something is to physically bond to the paint, then it makes sense that it has to get to the paint as opposed to attaching to a glaze. If it works for you, that's all that matters. The whole glaze under a sealant thing doesn't make sense to me, but I know the manufacturers claim it is possible.

But the more we learn, the less somethings make sense

In the end, the goal is to achieve *the best look* isn't it? And what's more fun is the quest to find it. ;)

Does it make sense to use Menzerna FP with a LC yellow cutting pad? None, in my brain. Such a mild product should be applied with a finishing pad, and yet some do it. Great!
