Finish Kare does it again!

That looks like a quality piece!

Eh...perhaps not as high-quality as one might think, one of my pair has sprung a leak (in the body of the handle no less!). When looking through it, the flow restriction is pretty obvious too.

Still, they (well, the one that doesn't leak, gotta get another one) work very well for me.

Not sure where you'll find them over there, but you seem to have sources for most everything we have in the CONTUS.

1000p is one of my all time fav's . I always thought that every layer was like adding a layer of clearcoat to your car/truck. Its very thick looking , deep looking .

Although being obsessive like the rest of us and getting a little old I wish they had a liquid form so I could apply with a PC. Same with PW. Their products have been exceptional performers for me . EXCEPT .... I was disappointed with the glass cleaner , it was like repackaged windshield washer fluid . Anyone else experience this ?

Whats the best way to do that ?

I have a yellow applicator pad in the jar that is saturated.

Once the black finishing pad is on the pc I wipe it with the yellow pad at 2 6 & 11 o'clock.

Rewipe as needed.

Squeeze and stuff your finishing pad into the jar, twist once or twice (this will give a uniform coverage), slap on the machine and go.

just a thought, when i'm using my pc to apply paste i use a very small plastic spatula or butter knife and scrape a small amount out of the can of paste and butter the pad like a piece of toast, i also like to spritz the pad ,once or twice before buttering it, with distilled water or qd, i use s&g, but that's just my personal choice. this seems to work well for me and allows me to apply a very thin evev coat.

Wow, that's amazing.

That does it, I am definitely going to try some more Finish Kare products!

I was thinking of going with the 2180 and top it with Pink Wax (the comments on their website say to use a base of 2180 prior to Pink Wax for best results) but this thread makes me wonder if I should use 1000p instead?

Suggestions?

Hey Rob,

I'm with you. I bought the 100P and Pink Wax but haven't had a chance to use it yet. As soon as I can get to it, these will be the next two products used on my vette. I'll report back, but it may not be for a couple of weeks.

Looking forward to it!

All these FK products get me confused. I said I was going to try 2180, but I was actually thinking of using the 1000P all along, since the 2180 is just a sealant, and I already have a ton of those on hand.

I always follow with Fk425 after applying a nuba; otherwise, my car becomes a dirt magnet because of the oils in the wax. Gotta love FK 425.

This is promising.

So FK 425 applied to a car finished off with a Carnauba will prevent it from attracting dust? Does it just lessen the amount of dust attraction compared to normal, or will it make the 'nuba attract no more dust than a sealant?

I.e., will a Carnauba still attract more dust than a Sealant even after using 425 on it?

I've been looking for a QD that would help cut down on the dirt/dust magnet effect of carnauba based LSP's. Even after sitting in the garage overnight after waxing, it has a layer of dust on it the next morning. Thanks for the tip.. can't wait to give it a shot.:xyxthumbs

Any problems with using FK425 right after the wax residue is removed?

Edit: just ordered a quart of it. It really seems inexpensive for such a highly regarded QD. 15 bucks for a quart.

I usually wait about 45 minutes to give the wax some time to dry/cure.

I think its $27/gallon. An even better deal.
