Finish Kare 425 Extra Slick Final Body Shine

Huh, that sounds kinda like FK146. Wonder if they've tweaked that product too

Eh, I still have gallons of both...be a while before I try the new version. Nice that they're continuing to improve such stuff though.

What the diff between 425 and 146?

ONR my car today. Wanted to use a quick detailer so I look at the dozen + detailers I have. So I have not used FK425 in a while. Started applying it and the fool proof detailer did it's job. It is so easy to use while giving a nice slick glossy finish. So if you want to try a QD like this give FK425 a try.

Have you tried mixing up some QD with the ONR yet? If not give it a shot, I think you just may like it better then the Fk425. Plus it saves a ton of money since it makes so much QD.

I have ONR and DP Rinseless both mixed up as QD's, I see no need to buy anymore FK425.

Rob, the diff is that 146 has better cleaning ability, 425 better look.

Off: how do you like the new Elite? OMG, it's the most beau GT.

Thanks Bence.

Yeah, the Elite looks pretty cool!

....thanks for he tips/replies earlier folks. Sorry for the delay in response. The e-mail notification for threads I have subscribed on this forum has been spotty.

btw, Accum.... I finally had a chance to buy a few towels from PakShak to try out. So far I like the WW glass towel and the ultra edgeless (white, short-napped one). I also have the 16x16 ultra and ultra plush but I have yet to play those.

Kean- Please post back about your experiences with those PakShak MFs, especially the WW for glass. I *really* liked mine, but after a while they started doing the irritating "MF lint" thing.

You know, now that I've been using FK146 on the Yukon for a while (initially because it made some *VERY* light marring less obvious than FK425 did), I've sorta come to *prefer* the slightly different look! Might be paint/conditions/eye-of-beholder dependent, but still....

....will do. My goal was to test these towels a few times and put them through several washes before deciding if I want to order more. I have a similar WW (one of the same size) I got from AG (Cobra) years ago that still work quite well. ....but ever since my experience with the last batch of towels I bought from them (bad lint/shedding and non-absorbent WW's), I have started looking for other sources for my "good" towels.

Kean- IME *all* MFs everntually lint/wear out, but I do really like the ones I get from PakShak.

Funny about Cobra stuff.. I'm generally not a huge fan, but I have a couple of their original (plush) MFs for glass that are still wonderful after many years. Oddly enough, all the other identical ones I bought at the same time started linting after just a little use :nixweiss

agreed and this has been my experience too. sadly.. i no longer will buy cobra microfiber towels even when they do have them BOGO, it's not worth the frustration and the wasted $'s...

And as Al knows, I also very much agree with this.

I recently received a couple of the "glass" MF's from Autogeek (Cobra) and these are clearly of low quality. Even at BOGO pricing, they are clearly over priced.

I also agree with Accumulator regarding *all* MF's eventually linting. Very unfortunate given what these towels usually cost. Some obviously start doing it sooner than others.

I have not ordered from Pak Shak for quite some time as they tend to be more expensive than other detailing retailers. But I can't help but think that the towels I have got from them have always been the best for some reason. Not sure who their supplier is, but they do seem to be different/better than the towels you get elsewhere.

Yes, I have experienced the smearing you speak of, Kean. I have found that I need to make sure that the surface is cool. I have also found that short nap microfiber towels, like Megs' Ultimate Wipes, work very well with FK 425, whereas the longer nap towels (at least the ones that I have) don't seem to be able to remove the detailing liquid.

I find the same thing but i love the way it looks.....just have to figure out what works the best.

I think FK1 changed the chemical or something in the 425. Couple years back I thought it was great stuff. Now, It's ok and I own a big bottle. But it isn't as great, or seems to be now. If I'm not using Z6, I prefer to use DG Aqua wax. Fantastic stuff.

On prepped surface, 146 is nearly as slick as 425. I prefer 146 sometime because it more slippery during wipe vs 425.
