Finally took some pics of the WRX after a detail (56K murder)

Ok... maybe not quite mirror chrome, but not too shabby. Some more pics:

Thanks man... I appreciate it :D

I just did a S100 topper this time after a Meguiar's GC wash. I have 2x AIO and 2x SG on there underneath.

One of these days, I may break down and try Zaino, but the Klasse twins + S100 are a mighty good combo. I have all the residents of Autopia to thank for that awesome setup...

Hey, why mess with success?? Prep and Klasse +S100 are obviously working for you. :up

Little question -- since I own but have not yet used Klasse: I thought I'd read that AIO is a cleaner, so doing AIOx2 just means you clean off the 1st layer of AIO when you apply the 2nd layer. What was your experience? Could you save yourself some labor by just doing 1 layer of AIO?

Lynn

AIO is a cleaner. A second application was probably done to clean the surface a little more and provide a nice base for SG.

Want to know a little secret I like with AIO? PM me.

Jason, thanks for the offer. I may take you up on that sometime, as I take I-278 through Staten Island to see my GF in Brooklyn Heights.

Lynn, AIO is IMO more than a cleaner. I have used it on vehicles by itself and have seen some good protection (4 months on my mom's Tahoe with one coat). However, the only reason I use 2 coats is because SG seems to stick better when I use 2 coats. It's also easier to put on and take off with 2x AIO.

I know Jngrbrdman will disagree with the AIO as protection, but I've seen it work well on my Mom's neglected vehicle. At the end of 4 months, the surface still looked pretty good and water sheeted off pretty well. I just added another coat of AIO and so far, the vehicle looks better than ever.

The car looks great. I've had very good luck with Zaino on my black S4. By the way I was born and raised in the Germantown section of Philly.

dookiebob,

How do you like the leather seat kit? Is it from one of the group buys on nasioc?

Looks great! As Gdubb said, very tastefully done cosmetics . . .

Thanks for the compliment :bounce

I love the leather seat kit. I think it elevates the entire feel of the car to a whole new level of luxury and quality. I personally think the stock cloth is unattractive, so leather was a good upgrade in my mind. It was through the 4th GB on NASIOC and everything went smoothly.

The best part of the kit is the suede inserts. They really keep your bottom warm in the winter and keep it planted while pulling 1G turns :D

Looks fantastic, but why the STI emblems?

The STi on the front grille is part of the grille itself, as it is a JDM (Japan Domestic Market) STi grille. The carbon fiber sidemarkers are STi replacements for the stock amber lights.

The STi on the door panel is there because I like the way it breaks up the otherwise boring side profile of the WRX.

STi is the tuning arm of Subaru, much like M Power is to BMW and AMG is to Mercedes. Having an STi emblem because you have the actual part is like having AMG on your wheels or //M on your shift knob, even though your model may not be an AMG or M model. The 5 series has an option for the M knob, just like AMG wheels are optional for Mercs. The sidemarkers and grille operate on the same principle.

I didn't try to badge my car as an STi, but the parts of the car that actually have STi on it (sidemarkers, grille) can keep it on, IMO.
