So between covid and moving our house and building the new shop this spring and summer has been busy to say the least. This Friday we had a private track rental with about 30 of us and a well known racer and track prep guy on hand to lay down the sticky on the track.

I haven`t been since last September when I ran 10.54@129 blowing through the FTI 4400 stall. Over the winter I switched from a TH350 trans and FTI 4400 to a TH400 and a Yank Pro Eliminator 3400. And boy did it pay off.

After a cool down and tire pressure adjustment it went this

So after this pass it was obvious that 4.11 rear gear was just too much. A set of 3.70s or 3.90s is in order most likely. But for the hell of it my tuner added 1.5 deg of timing and bumped the limiter to 7100rpm from 6800rpm. I made another pass and like a dope forgot to put in a fresh bottle and went 10.10 @ 131. Also I forgot to raise my RPM window switch for the nitrous as it normally would shut off at 6600. Some cooler air and it will go a 9.90. But all in all at 3800lb race weight with me in it I`m very happy with it.

Congrats! You definitely left me in the dust haha.

I will be shooting for high 12`s, just cracked my block, sleeving, boring +2mm and bumping the comp ratio up from 8 to 9 to 1. Also porting the turbo to +10mm over on both the hot and cold side.

Great times Justin! And you`re at 3800#! Wow! New convertor seems to be working well...and the car is liking it! Definitely in to see what a lower (numerically) gear will do for you!

Yeah man the car is working very well with the setup. Next month we will see if it goes 9s

What do you mean?

You said earlier that the car will do 9.90 with cooler air. Your 10.0X could be attributed to warmer air, how are you managing the heat the car produces? Is your intake sealed off to the engine bay? Are you running heat shielding and thermal insulation around your manifold? What is the change in coolant and air intake temperature from the tree to the end of the run? Are you running MAP or MAF? Since you are running so much Nitrous I assume you are cat-less? Are the headers wrapped to mitigate engine bay heat soak? Etc...
