Finally got organized

zesty-man

how do ya like it?
for the last two months ive been saying to myself that i was gonna get organized. well, i had this cabinet lying in my garage for about 3 weeks collecting dust, and my dad and i finally got a chance to finish it up today. i took me about 2 hours to get everything moved, cleaned, and organized. however, in the end it was well worth it. i also found products that i havent seen in half a year! im not quite sure what i want to do with them... maybe ill donate them or give them away. its really old stuff, mothers cleaner wax, meg's 3 step polish, etc etc. really good way to start 2005.

anyway, heres the pics..

funny story... my dad and i were moving my old uncovered storage, and as we moved it, we found that there was a dead fish in the back of it...... it was my dad's albino oscar that he said was missing for about a month. :hurl

the cabinet looks great, you should be all set up for the new year.

I'm more interested in the story on how the fish got behind your old storage :lol

Happy New Year

I really need to cut down on my products...I have wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy too many...Maybe this week will be organizing and donating :)

Great Job Zesty Man! The next time you are in Indiana, drop by, my entire shop could stand that.

What are the dimensions on the cabinet?

Dave

thanks for the compliments guys. you have your own shop? now thats cool. not quite sure on the dimensions of the cabinet because i threw the box away pretty long ago. however, i can say that the top of it is higher than my head, i would say about 6 feet high. the rest im not sure about.

2k4element, i picked up the cabinet at a local hardware store called city mill. baiscally its a place where they sell wood, bricks, pesticide, lighting, etc etc. one day my dad and i were there looking for some fly traps, and my eye caught the cabinet. the cabinet seemed to be just about the right size, so i told my dad that i wanted it. we shopped around a little bit, but came back because it seemed that this one was just perfect for what i wanted.

ok ok, for those of you that want to hear my fish story....

cliff notes: i found my dad's footlong albino oscar (dead for 4 months) behind my work rack where i previously kept all my detailing stuff. it was white and gross...

basically my old shelf was against my dad's 200 gallon fish tank. in the fish tank was an albino oscar that was about 4 years old, and some feeder fish that it eats. after a while, we began to notice that the feeder fish were growing bigger and bigger, and wondered why they were getting so large. the water was getting green at the time, so we couldnt tell if the oscar was in there or not, we just assumed. then one day my mom passes by and says, whats that smell. so she has my dad investiage his aqurium, and sure enough, he coudnt find the fish. then he started looking around, and couldnt find it anywhere on the ground. my dad thought that he was having an old person's moment, and he had probably thrown the fish away after it died. well, this weekend we move the rack and we see this giant white thing. at first i thought it was like some cotton or lint or something, but then i saw its eye and its mouth. my dad is like, oh sh!t, thats my fish. at that instant i sorta got the chills through my body and had to go inside for a little while. the good news is that the smell is gone. the bad news was that the fish had been hanging around for a few months. the scariest part of all is that i was constantly around that rack and ive never noticed that fish, and the smell of chemicals sorta blocked out the smell of a huge dead fish.

:showpics :showorgo
sorry, no pics :(.

Thanks, I didn't know the old shelf was that near the tank, so I had visions of a "migrating" fish :lol

I think Steve needs a new category for this year's awards - Best Fish Story :rofl

lol, yea, i think everyone else sorta was under that same impression too. it just jumped out of its tank into the back of my rack.

I lost an Oscar (he was still young) by him jumping out of the tank. I also had one that grew to aout 8 inches and really became a menace. I had to give him to the local pet store. Oscar's are very aggressive fish. If I looked at him through the glass he would "ram" the tank straight at me like a bull. He charged his own tank heater and broke it causing it to cut his head open. It healed and he was fine. He also used to tear the plants out of the gravel, I could never keep them in place. I drew the line when he ripped and roared through the tank one day and knocked the discharge spout to the pump up in the air causing half the water to spill on the floor. Glad he is gone.

Not trying to high jack your thread, but since Oscars were mentioned......
