Finally getting a Lowe's.

as for my experience

I am in the middle of a large home improvement and have a Lowes and Home Depo within reasonable distance.

Lowes: user friendly, you have to be an educated consumer to get the bast deals... know what you want before buying it... use judgment when asking questions... the younger kids don't know the tricks of the trade yet and just send you to the section and let you make the choice. older workers who have been in the trade for some time know the quarks you come across and give advice willingly... the disadvantage is they sometimes don't shut up.

Home Depo: contractor friendly.

I am redoing my kitchen, replacing everything from the floor jousts up.... while shopping for kitchen cabinets in HD i was asked if i needed any help with in 3-5 minutes.....Lowes I was in the kitchen cabinet section for over an hour and not even a Hello... HD answered all my questions with out a sales pitch..... Lowes..... (Crickets).... no one around to be found..... HD I was talked to as an equal.... Lowes... workers from other sections had no idea where the person was in charge of interior design.... HD was willing to work with me on a personal level on interior design.... Lowes after 2hrs of our own research someone showed up... they were not rude to say but put-out becouse he hade to do his job...Made appointments with both business (sp).... HD was there early as I was... worked with us for over 3 hrs with a CAD (computer aided design) system..... Lowes was 1hr 15minutes late.... I was Pissed beyond belief ....the wife said to the person we had an oppoiment (sp)at 6:00 and it's now 7:15.... the person said... it was my dinner break....with the same attitude of "i can't be bother by you"
we are looking to drop a minim of 6,000.00 in cabinets alone another 3-5 in appliances.... Lowes seems to be bothered by me spending my money in there store.... HD is willing to jump through hoops.

I have a full understanding that no 2 stores are alike

both stores you have to rummage through there ruff cut lumber to find choice material.
both stores will price match.
as of right now Lowes is offering a better payment plan.

project to datd:

I like both Lowe's and Home Depot. We have 3 HDs within 10 miles of us and it has been that way for a while. Just recently they built a Lowe's nearby and that was good because the closest Lowes before that was 1 1/2 hours away...

Lowe's does appear to be cleaner and carries PC and Folex.... but I like Tony Stewart better than Jimmie Johnson .... hmm.... hard to choose one.

Really though, both of them will probably have what you are looking for.
