Ok, ive put off detailing the Lightning long enough. I was going to go the zaino route since using it for the last 3 years but after seeing the Pinnacle Souveran pics on peoples black cars, i just couldnt pass up the opportunity to try it.

So, after 3 days detailing before the car show on sun, i got it done.

Started out with a good ole Dawn wash, then Clay baring the entire vehicle. Afterwards, washed again with Dawn. Moved into the garage and broke out the PC armed with a CMA yellow foamy. Did the entire SMR route and a couple of spots with the Fin II. Washed him again in Dawn and went with the PCL. Used a white pad for this and buffed it until the loton broke down. Wiped it down with a MF towel and laid on the first coat of Souveran. I buffed it off as it was getting dark.

Following day, i added 1 more coat of Souveran after the 24 hour curing process and all i can say is, im most impressed. Thanks to everyone who posted pics of theiir hardwork showing what a great product Pinnacle makes. Had i not seen it here, i would still be using Zaino.

Well, its to the thanks to all of you and the great info i have obtained here that made it look this way. Its all in the prep is what i kept hearing. I spent thur and fri prepping and preppy. Hitting panels over 3 times.

I had bought my PC based on a newbie thread i started around november of last year. Some suggested the thiings i would need, which was the SMR,. Fin II and Pinnacle Cleansing Lotion. I was going to keep using Zaino until i kept seeing the black cars done in carnuba.

So last tue i had ordered the $139 kit from the nerd place with 2 day air shipping to get it here before the weekend of the show. Came out to a whopping $176 but i cant complain.

Thanks again for showing me how to make black pop out.. People have been staring at it everywhere i go :p

That looks awesome! I'm not really a truck person, but I love the Lightnings. I also like the Harley Davidson version of one manufacturers truck. Is it a Ford maybe? Anyway, great job. The paint looks like liquid! It looks so good I want to get into it and drive it around!!

Yes, Ford makes both the Lightning and Harley. They dropped the Lightning power plant into the 2002 and 2003 HD trucks but detuned them a bit. The HD was wayyyyyyy to much black for me to take care of. lol
