I'm usually not one to post anything in click and brag, but the floor in this old Chevy Metro was such an improvement that I just had to take a FEW pics. So I figured, scince I've never posted anything in click and brag, why not start now.

Car belongs to a pet trainer, that loves DOGS, so you can imagine.

I vacumned out the interior the day before, so the befores that you are all seeing are a lot better than when I originally started. The owner didn't use any floor mats at all.

Process:

generic carpet cleaner from wal-mart (mohawk brand I think) sprayed in with a garden sprayer, brushed in, then shop vac'ed out, then rinsed using the same method.

Does it still smell like dogs? But great job with the stains and pet hairs. I recently picked up a carpet tool specific for those dog and cat hair task. Claims that it creates static electricty to sweep the hairs. And it does a hell of a job. I use it on my clothes too.

mr.ikon - thanks, can you give me a link to that...you've grabbed my attention.

Scott - for you to say something like that to me is truly an honor, thanks.

Hadboosttroy - thanks, I worked in full sun, hoping it would help to dry things after I was done.

bpfoley - yeah, It can, I would try and use a vac that has a decent amount of power, 3 or more hp at least. A common mistake that a LOT of people make is that they over-saturate the carpet with thier cleaning solution, and rinse water. And not only can THAT lead to mold and mildew, but also pulling up dirt from underneath the carpet, and defeating your purpose. FWIW, I always go over the carpet with some paper towels when I get done, and place a window fan inside the car.
