Well I have been here a while and learned a lot!! - I have even posted a few questions and responses - but I figured I had better post some pics of my work!!

here are two cars that got a quick detail over the weekend. The first is my own car - a 2001 BMW 3-series in titanium silver. This car got a decent winter prep about november last year with clay, Autoglym SRP & EGP. Since then it has had a few coats of EGP added whenever I could, but honestly I have been very impressed with the durability of that combo (the AG twins I mean). Recently it also got a quick coat of P21s.

Anyway - this weekend it got a good clean with Zymol Auto wash (the green stuff that is readily available), dried with the Autoglym synthetic towel and an MF to make sure it was dry. This was followed with a coat of P21S - I am amazed how easy this is to apply and remove!

The black plastic parts are treated with AG 'Bumper care', which is a gel product that leaves a great semi-gloss sheen and seems to last forever - it actually makes the plastic "bead" water which is cool!.

The tyres and wheel wells have armourall applied with a small sponge. The glass has been cleaned with AG glass polish which I highy rate - very easy to use! I have also applied Rain-x to the screen and rear window to help visibility.

Hope the pics are OK - any comments welcome or perhaps other combo's to try on this colour!

Ok - this other car is my girlfriends 2002 Audi A2 Sport. A pretty cool car made entirely from aluminium. This does a lot more miles than my car and is far more difficult to clean with all the salt onUK roads at this time of the year. This car is also for sale at the moment and had a prospective buyer coming that day to see it. so it got a more thorough detail inc. Wash with AG shampoo, clay in area's with Meguiars Quick Clay. This was followed by AG SRP and a coat of P21s. The black plastic has been treated with Armorall applied on a sponge and the same on the tyre walls. Glass cleaned with AG Glass polish. I have a couple more pics of this car too - if anyone is interested that is - let me know!!

Thanks

Graham

Thanks! - wow my first feedback!

There wasn;t much light when I took those pics - shame as the BMW looked amazing a couple of hours previous in the low winter sun!

The Audi is different eh! - I doubt they sell them in the US - It's a bit of a "euro-car" - it has some pretty neat design touches though!

Thanks - the Audi is actually pretty small - certainly not a mini-van - or MPV as they get called over here. It's more of a small city-car.

It's a strict 4-seater. Made entirely from aluminium, it weighs in at under a ton and can average over 40mpg. The glass roof is pretty cool too! here's a couple more pics seeing as you guys are interested:

no a 1.4litre petrol -

they do a 1.4litre, 3cylinder turbo diesel - it is slightly more economical, but is not the smoothest engine in the world!

Wow, cars in Europe are definitiely different from cars in America.

I couldn't imagine any of my family's cars on European roads.

Except maybe the Jeep. It goes anywhere and turns on a dime ;)

But then again, it gets 14 MPG. :(

Thanks - they are the 17" version of the wheels on the TT coupe. Give a bit of a harsh ride though - they have just a 40 profile tyre!

Mongoose - but thats what we brits love about your country - the ablity to have big cars!! - Last time I was on vacation over there I had a Chevrolet thing - think it was a Tahoe - like a big 4x4, the time before that I rented a Chevrolet Camaro convertible - for a touring holiday round Mass, New Hampshire, Maine, CT and Rhode Island - I can't think of a better car to do it in!!!

That audi looks similar to the VW Polo hatch (5 door), or maybe the VW Lupo. Both cars are available in Mexico.

Good Job on the details by the way

Thanks - the grill isn't see-through, though I admit that would be kinda cool!

The grill is like a solid shiny plastic material that seems to get scratched if you look at it in a funny way! - it looks good when polished up though. It has SRP on it in that picture, which didn't remve the scratches, but made it loook a million times better. Actually that Black grill bit is the only bit of the hood that opens! - the actual hood is bolted down - when you pull the hood release lever, the black grill folds down and out come the oil-dipstick, oil top up cap and washer bottle filler!

Lix - whereabouts are you based?

I used to work for CSC but left last year - my wife still does though - based out of Preston.

Lowejackson - thanks!

I live not far from Strand Rd but actually work at Euxton House (for the next fortnight at least!) What are you replacing the A2 with?
