Finally Cleaned it up

Well, after my father in-law restored his 1967 Camaro, he parked it. He left it uncovered in his garage for 2 years, and when the car got dusty, he would wipe it off with t cloth diaper. I took the car to store at my house in 1999, washed it and put a cover on it. The car has sat since. I finally have some time now drive and enjoy the car. I uncovered the car only to discover the paint was hazy and I could see numerious swirls in the clear coat. I first attacked the paint with Meguiars Medallion Paint Cleaner, then I moved to the Meguiars Swirl remover, and followed that up with Medallion Premium Paint Protectant Wax. I used my trusty old Craftsman orbit polisher. I know I could make the finish look better with some different materials and a PC polisher, but now my father in-law is thinking about selling the car. I thought I would show it off a little before that happens.

Question: Why would you put the time, money, and effort into restoring abeauty like that and simply store it for 4-6 years?

More pics please!

My father in-law just likes to restore cars. He restored a 1966 Mustang and it sat in the garge for 10 years. One day, someone was driving by and saw the Mustang in the garage and asked him if it was for sale. He sold the car the next day. Same with the Camaro, he restored it and parked it. I try to get him to take the cars to car events, but he is not interested. I take my car out all of the time, but he never does. As for the car sitting in my garage, I did not want to put miles on a car that was not mine, but now I am going to drive it some, becasue it hurts the car so much when they sit.

That thread is 4 years old. He simply named the new pics the same as his old ones...

Why would he renamed another pic exactly to "4471d1082482526-finally-cleaned-up-pug1.jpg" again? Besides, the picture is attached to the forum. It's not like it's a file on a remote server that he can modify readily.

Another thing, how come people didn't realize this 4 years ago?
