Final ?s before I use the PC

Ok so I just wanted to get some last minute opinions and advise before I begin my first job.

I have the Menzerna paint polish kit include the IP, the FP and the Finishing Glaze.

I am going to be applying it using the PC 7424. The IP with the orange pads, the FP with the white pad and the FP with the blue pad.

Here are my questions: Due I need to moisten the pads while using them? And Do I put the Menzerna on the pad or on the paint directly? Thanks for all the help and suggestions. Much appreciated!

K first off, what kind of pads? Sonus? Lake Country? Edge? Also what size?

You would probably be fine just using FP 1 step using the blue pad, if you are on the Edge system, as IIRC blue is a light polishing/finishing.

Some people spray a shot of QD or water I believe on the body work to be corrected or the pad (correct me if I am wrong someone) to slow the process of gumming up the pad IIRC.

For applying the polish, put it on the pad, dab or spread it around on your intended area of work, then turn on the PC and spread the polish out using around 3, then kick it up to 5-6 and work away.

Menz polishes are very nice, I have used both IP and 106FF. If you have the money I would suggest trying out 106FF, some say it finishes down even nicer than FP.

Also take a gander over this...

The pads I will be using are from Lake Country. The are the 6" pads. Thank for the help though! I am unfamiliar with all the accronyms so please let me know what IIRC means. I appreciate the patience.

Another question just for clarification. When polishing do I use a forward and backward motion on the panel. As in a forward and then aft direction. I thought I read that somewhere and to NOT use a circular motion. thanks again for all the help.

ah IIRC = If I recall correctly. When using the PC I go back and forth across the panel, and then up and down across the panel.

edit: from David B's guide

Use slow, smooth back-and-forth and up-and-down sweeping motions.
