I am trying to avoid fillers like the plague but see on other sites that the products that I use may contain them :brick

Which Megs products contain fillers...and what is the technical name for fillers...So that I can call up the companies to see if their products contain this ingredient?

Does PB contain any fillers....in there polishes
Menzerna
3m
Klasse?
Malco
AutoMagic...personally dont like their products but would like to know what ya guys think of them

Just wanted to know cuz when I heal up from this shoulder surgery I am looking to get my chemicals updated for the spring....

Anyone?

I know the way to check is to do a 50/50 of alcohol and water to check...but what about lighting is there a way...

How everyone is doing well for the New year.. :dcrules

I personally like product's with filler's. If I did all the black vehicle's that I do with a abrasive swirl remover every time there would be no clearcoat left.....lol

For "ME" there is a time and place for an abrasive polish or a filler polish. Yes I do use SMR's but as little as possible.

interesting topic. I would also like to know which meg products contain fillers. More interested in the Body Shop line. I believe Poorboys line doesnt contain fillers but could be wrong.

SMR's...what does that stand for?

Poorboy's if any have very FEW fillers, but I'm pretty sure they don't.

Menzerna polishes I know for a fact do NOT have fillers.

Meguiar's #80 and #9 have some fillers but that's all I know.

Wonder if I call Megs or any of these vendors will they give me the truth or they going to instantly say NO.... :ticked ...

Going to call PB/Menzerna.....Or I hope that PB will come in this thread and clear up what does/doesnt make up fillers...?

i dont mind fillers because they save me alot of work and they produce great results when you dont want to use the rotary .. i use a polish that works miracles .. customers love the results .. for my own vehicle i use the rotary and compound for a flawless finish but it takes hours and most people dont want to pay for that much work ..

I agree with Ron. I don't mind using fillers. Saves time, looks great and when they wear off, well, a good time to call me and set up another appointment. If you are in this to make money, you must remember that all businesses thrive on the same equation: time is money, volume is money. The key is to utilize your time wisely to create volume. Volume itself will be created out of quality. At least, that is how I see things.

I am using the pro line

Just wanted to make sure that there are no fillers in #9,80,83....these are the ones that I see are used often....

I know that #9 has some fillers in it, #80 has little if any, and #83 doesnt.
Alot of people think that since Megs has oils in their products (cleaners and polishes, pro line) it means it has fillers in them. Actually they are used to lubricate the surface and break down the deminishing abrasive in them. It also helps prevent scouring of the finish. I am personally a Megs fan and love their products. If you are worried about the fillers, how bout spraying 50/50 iso alchohol and water to remove the fillers.

But after I spray dont I have swirls again?

" and when they wear off, well, a good time to call me and set up another appointment.

'Cause I didn't do it right the first time?

C'mon, use AIO after ANY polish, find your remaining defects- fix em - and you'll have clients telling neighbors about you...

Jim

Who said it wasn't done right? Not all swirls come out, some you can fade, and some you need to work over time. Being honest about that doesn't mean it "wasn't done right". We weren't talking about your work.

If you didn't do it right, sounds like a personal problem.
