Earlier this month DFW area went from close to 70 degree weather to an ice storm with several days below freezing. We do not have the equipment for this weather like many other cities have. This year the city used a mixture of sand and salt. It made for a huge mess albeit a much safer drive!
The weather warmed up to the 60’s and I am taking time off from work so I was able to get a proper cleaning done before the weather turned cooler.
The Fiat was beyond dirty! I began by spraying Poorboy’s World APC (5 to 1 mixture) on the dirty car and rinsing it with a Karcher power washer. My Karcher is a low end model so it doesn’t produce too high of a pressure. But you can see in the half & half photo it did a pretty darn good job!
Amazing Roll Off helped to clean the wheels and wheel wells.
After a good spray down I went to the two bucket method using Poorboy’s World Super Slick & Suds. I followed that with a Pinnacle Ultra Poly Clay and Poorboy’s World Spray and Wipe for lube. Finally, a follow up with the wash again to get rid of any leavings from the claybar.
Dried with a leafblower and the Air Wand attachment.
I waited to start in the afternoon when it had warmed up. By now, the afternoon was almost done so I put the car away to finish the next day.
Day two, I cleaned the wheels again with an MF and PB S&W. Then applied Pinnacle Black Onyx Tire Dressing and Griot's Garage Undercarriage spray on the wheel wells.
Interior:
Sonax Dashboard cleaner
Door panels: PB Natural Look
Seats were cleaned with Lexol leather cleaner and then a coat of Four Star Ultimate Leather Conditioner
Exterior Protection:
Topped off the car with Poorboy’s World Natty’s Red!.The NR left a really bright shine! Perfect for the cold weather that started during the waxing. A cold front blew in and dropped the temp. The next day it rained all day so I kept the Fiat in the garage!
