Few quick questions about detailing my Z

Hey guys, its been a while since I have been around the forum but wanted to say Hi and hope everyone is dong well.

I am home from school this weekend and want to give my Z a good detailing. I would like to do a wash, clay, clean/polish, and wax. Here is what I was thinking:

1. Dawn wash

2. Clay

3. DACP or Menzerna Intensive polish with Megs Cutting Pad

4. NXT with Megs Polishing Pad

5. Pinnacle Souveran applied with hand

How does this sound? Would the Cutting pad be too aggresive? Should I just use a a Polishing pad? Also, I have some paint overspray on one of my fenders, would the clay remove this with no problem? I really appreciate your help and please let me know if this sounds good and whether or not I should change anything.

I attached a pic of my paint for an evaluation.

Thanks again!

-Ryan

depending on level of contamination on your paint a reg car wash will do fine before polishing

yes clay will remove overspray and so forth just take your time

IMO you will need to go to to a finer polish IE 106ff or menz final polish for black paint to insure it is as clear as possible

nxt under souveran will be nice, tho not very durable

The dawn wash is to remove all the wax thats already on the car and start with a nice clean surface. Ya I have been around here enough to know not to use it alot or every day.

Alright, I have some Menzerna FP. Also, the Menz products are about 3 years old stored in my garage. Will they be OK or should I replace them?

I think if they have not been allowed to freeze they should be OK.

Thanks guys! Should I just forget about the Menz IP or Megs DACP on the cutting pad? I mean my paint is not too bad, just some swirls, so after the clay should I just use the Menz FP with a polishing pad?

Oh, and what would be a more durable finish than NXT toppe dwith Souveran. I really like the Souveran but I wouldn't mind something more durable since I am not able to wash or wax my car on a weekly basis when I am at school.

Your help is much appreciated!
