Ferraris, ENZO, SWIRLS, marrs, you will cry!

GOT PREP?
Yesterday was the anual "Italina exotic car show" in Memphis. The cars were awful, there was not even ONE that would satisfy even the most lax autopian eye. I just wanted to cry, then polish them all one by one.

First up the enzo, < 300 miles HOLOGRAMS all over the hood

The rest are just random pictures of how bad the cars were. All were Ferraris

What the hell? Do they include a lifetime supply of steel wool with every Ferrari purchase in Memphis?

Actually, the local Subaru dealer delivers every car swirled so badly that you can see them from about 30' away on a cloudy day.

That thud you just heard was my jaw hitting the floor. I absolutley adore Ferraris!! I cant imagine leaving my Contour SVT or Lightning look like that, let a lone a $100-600k Ferrari!

Yuck. I could understand it on a daily driver, but I doubt many Enzos are used that way.

BTW, about how many cars were there? Were there many other makes? I didn't hear about this event until last night.

About 15-20, a bit of everything. They were ALL horrible!

i detail all the ferraris every year for the French Quarter Ferrari Concours Classic here in the New Orleans area and can tell all of you that there is hardly a one that doesn't look like that. those cars aren't as well maintained as you would think. i have had brand new ferraris delivered to the owners here with Dealer installed buffer burns on countless models. it's unbelievable that they would let an inexperienced detailer near a ferrari with a high speed rotary, but they do.

Amen to that!! My WRX was beat to hell when I got it, more than two years later, it looks 100 times better :)

Those Ferraris though :(

Last year at a Miata Detailing clinic at AutoRecon in Irvine, CA a guy drove a red Ferrari in for a quote for some repair work. Being a car guy, I went over and checked out his car. The word that best describes the condition of his finish is horrendous.

Because I was all set up for demonstrations, I offered to show him how he, with his hands or with a machine could easily improve the appearance of his car's finish.

He said, "Why?", followed by "What for?"

I left it at that and walked away...

I had a similar experience at this show.

Owner overheard me talking to my friend about how bad the swirls were on his paint and how easily they could be fixed. He said "that is just the way these clear coats are, they are all like that." I just laughed and walked away, poor car.
