Ferrari Sternalli (sp?)

LastDetail

Whose yer DADDY!??!?!?!?!
Hey everyone, it would certainly seem like I have been on an exotic car kick the last couple weeks. I don't know how this happened but I am certainly not complaining.
Today I had the opportunity to wash and wax this customers Ferrari Sternalli. There isn't a whole lot of change between the before and afters, basically because this car has only 1700 miles on it and sits in the garage under a car cover when it is not being used. Nerver wracking to say the least.
The customer not only has this beautiful piece of machinery, but also an Enzo which you can see under the car cover in the garage, AND a Porsche Carrera GT. I don't know who this guy is, but I want him to adopt me.

Process:
NXT wash
NXT wax by hand.
Mothers low-gloss tire dressing.

And just because it was so cool, I took a picture of the cockpit, just to show you guys. I was originally wanted to take a picture of me sitting behind the wheel, but couldn't be that unprofessional.

Anyway, hope you guys enjoy, hopefully he lets me take car of his Enzo next!

Looks like a Stradale. :)

Is that what it's called? The guy is a major Ferrari enthusiast I guess, he was saying that over the years he has owned a few. He called this one a Sternalli, I noticed that it said something different on the back of the car, but didn't want to say anything.
When he talked to me on the phone to set up the appointment he mentioned that it's the race version of a ferrari body line, and wanted to make sure that I didn't use any type of solvent wheel cleaner or anything but soap and water to clean the wheels as solvents would ruin the ceramic brakes. If you notice in the car too, the door panels are nothing but carbon fiber. Maybe the race version of the Stradale is called the Sternalli. Or maybe I just heard him wrong.
I would like to learn more about ferrari so that I can sound more intelligent when talking to this guy. Any help or tips about those cars would be appreciated.

I could be wrong...was just at my local Ferrari dealer today...shoulda asked. :)

The Stradale is the race version of the 360...they hold Stradale Challenges in several cities including Road Atlanta here. Went last year and it was terrific.

There are a couple of enthusiast Ferrari sites that have good information...

Edit: Looks like this is a Challenge Stradale from the back trunk picture (second photo).

wow nice ride..

any reason you chose NXT as opposed to something else ?
When setting up the appt. he originally wanted a full detail, he told me that he had some really mild swirling and that he wanted to get rid of it. But he said that I could only get 2 hours with the car because he was taking it to Palm Springs. I told him that I couldn't polish the whole car in that little amount of time, so in further talking I told him that NXT wax helps hide smaller flaws in the paint, we agreed that I would use the NXT so as to make some of the flaws less noticeable.
He fully understood that the "cobwebs" as he called them were still going to be there once the wax wore off, and that he wanted me to polish it down at a later date.

Correct,

Special edition of the 360 built to lean more toward racing. Sweeeeeeeet ride and the exhaust note is sickening :)

Just incredible!
I would have pictured their home (the garage) to be a little more impressive.
Good luck on detailing the other two.
I think I would pay to detail the Enzo!!!!

Its funny that you say that. It was actually really impressive. As you can see in the pictures that there is a 2 car attached to a single car garage. BUT I didn't turn the car to take the other pictures. They had another 2 car garage attached to a single with a bricked in courtyard between. Which is where the car is sitting. You can see the nose of my Tahoe, I was parked in the courtyard and there was an electric rolling gate that sealed it off from the street. The courtyard had a drain right in the middle and all of the surfaces angled slightly to the middle, no standing water whatsoever.

Really slick set up. Not only does this guy have the Ferrari I worked on, plus the Enzo and Carrera GT, BUT he and his wife have matching Mercedes G55s (which he called his Beaters) and another car in the closed garage that he called his "project".

Like I said this guy is my idol, you couldn't ask for a better area to detail outdoors, the house surrounding the courtyard with the 9 foot gate closing it off meant that there was almost no wind or crud blowing around where I was working, and the only time sun hit it directly was between 11 am and like 2pm or thereabouts according to the owner.

The guy called today and asked me if I would be available to detail his Enzo!
YEAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!
Stoked doesn't even describe the feeling.
