This F430 had been previously "detailed" by the dealership - a well known national prestige/sport dealer. It was very poorly prepared, with buffer trails, hologram and lots of swirl still present. Giving the black a dull lifeless look.
This is a 37 stage full correction detail, designed to give life and clarity back to this beautiful car.
Here's how the finish was, not how a £130K Supercar should live -
First up, an interior clean with Henry, G101 and Gliptone.
Then glass with AG Glass Polish, here's a nice view through the back window
and from outside -
Door jams cleaned with G101 and long brushes. Waxed with collinite 476.
Then on to the exterior, wheels with AS Smart wheels/Vikan and paintbrushes, washed with Megs Shampoo Plus, Sonus mits and towels, snowfoam.
Clayed with CYC Yellow, only light contamination, as the rest had been compounded into the finish on it's dealer prep.
Inspection under lights showed up the real condition -
50/50 after polishing with Megs polishing pad, and a 1:1 mix of Menz FF and IP. Proving a very hard finish, with plenty of depth - 220 - 300 Um. Working under cover allowed the Menz to work a little more cooler. Giving slightly longer cutting before breaking down.
Cleaned up with Menz Top Inspection.
Here's the finish after machine work. Looking a lot better and a definite rise in gloss and depth.
After a clean up, it was on to a prep/seal with Carlack NSC, cured for 40 minutes. Applied with a damp applicator, very thin.
After carlack, giving a cold, hard shine - but needing more warmth.
Waxed with 1 layer of Pete's '53, and a further 2 layers of Swissvax Best of Show.
The last layer of BOS -
The 3 wax layers gave a much needed warmth, and the '53 under the BOS definetly seemed to really help the BOS a little.
Re-buffed after a 30 minute curing break, and lifting the finish just a little more.
Here's the finished car, thanks for reading through.
