Ferrari 550 Maranello

Wait a minnit...you mean that wasn't his garage at home? That was his Ferarri/Porsche garage? Mind if I ask what this gentleman does for a living?

That is correct. That was his storage garage where he keeps his cars that aren't at his home. He owns 12 cars in all. At home he has 4-5 cars and at storage he has 7. He owns his own business, doing what I don't know but he's making good money doing it. He also has 5 motorcycles.

Great job on an awesome car. Now you just need to convince him that you need to get your hands on that GT3!

No convincing needed, I'll be working on that one next :xyxthumbs

Thanks for the compliments. Yes, I will be detailing the other cars in addition to his 360 Modena. The GT3 is next on the list I think.

Labster, are you in the Columbus area? I live in New Albany myself.

I'm about an hour to 1.5 hrs north of you right up 71. We should get an Ohio Autopia meet going sometime, there's a fair amount of Ohio members.

I heard some Ferarris don't have clear coats???? Did that one?

No paint transfer onto my pads or mfs so I'm assuming that it had a clear coat. I haven't heard that they didn't, possibly the older ones though :nixweiss

See? Just another example that I'm IN THE WRONG LINE OF WORK :(

Excellent detail! That car looks better then when Ferrari gave birth to it (is a car like that just merely assembled in a factory? no!). Such a depth and richness to the paint.

I have to admit to being jealous of people like this, or would envious be more appropriate? I can only hope to have a chance to detail one some day, let alone own 12 exotics!

About Ashland area I guess, eh? That would be great for a meet, Beer and strippers :D

BTW, excellent work on the exotics!

Thanks once again. Ashland is about an hour away. Big no on the strippers, sorry, not my thing.

Where's the Modena?

I love the Maranello. Easily my favorite Ferrari. It beats the hell out of an Enzo in the look Dep't any day!

Saw the pics when you posted them on OT (which you also might want to do in the main forum, about 1200 members in it right now!). You do outstanding work! Even under those bright lights, the paint looks swirl free!

How much time did you put into it? Can you convince the owner you need to test it at top speed to make sure the wax stays on?

It's being repaired. It got ran into a wall while he was racing about two months back. They were waiting on the parts to be shipped over from Italy I think he said.

Thanks! I spent about 3.5 hrs on it. The swirls and scatches that were on there gave me more grief then I would have liked but I wasn't leaving until I was happy with the finished product. Needless to say, he loved it. He said that it looked like a different, deeper shade of red that he hadn't seen before. Just goes to show what good products and process can do I suppose.

He's taken me out in it before. I'm crossing my fingers on driving it. lol. I've driven his STI and Boxster though :)
