Ferrari 550 Maranello

I detailed a very nice Ferrari 550 Maranello on friday for my new client. Very awesome guy. Unfortunately it was pouring friday so I don't have any shots of the car outside but he said that he'll hold off on driving the car until I get a few, hopefully sometime this week. It's an amazing car, v12 beast basically. Unfortunately, it looked like the previous owner used sand paper to wipe down the car because on every horizontal panel there was a lot of scratches. The rear trunk lid was badly swirled and had some fairly visible scratches along with the hood, and around the drivers side door. The new owner, my client, got the car for a great deal so he said he couldn't pass it up. Enough of the monologue though. I was initially going to use Meguiars #80 on it but after 20 minutes of fighting with the hood I opted for DACP with a LC light cut pad followed by #80 with a polishing pad. Once again I apologize for the pics. The lighting wasn't the best. Hopefully I'll be able to take some proper pictures of this beast. Working with the car on the lift was great, no aching back. I just raised it up once I was done with the horizontal panels and worked on the sides, it was great!

Enough talking, here's the pics. Let me know what you think :wiggle:

Let me put my tongue back in my mouth so I can manage to say something coherent. The cars, the garage, and of course the detailing simply awesome. What else can I say. What are the models of the 2 Porshes in the picture?

Nice cars, nice garage, nice job, Labster! A little off-topic about that lift: We have seen lifts like this in a few other "nice garage" posts, and I have to say I don't really get it. Are they really just for making more space so you can drive another car under? You obviously can't do any wheel/tire removal since the car is supported that way, and the platforms that support the car look so large that I'm not sure what other kind of work you can do under the car...hopefully there's enough room for oil change/lube. If I was going to have a lift in my garage, I'd want to be able to rotate my tires and look at the brakes, etc.

Very nice work :up

Although I like Italian cars, Ferrari seem to be to wide. Maybe on the larger American roads and compared to the larger than European sized cars, they look perfectly sized

The two Porshes are: Modified Porshe Boxster and the black one is a GT3 with a supercharger, something like 450 hp at the wheels. It's a sweet looking car.

The lifts are for storage purposes but you can also change the oil and I think that they have attachments that go on it so that you can also rotate the tires and such. It's all pneumatic which is nice. He has one of them in his garage at home so he can have 3 cars in it as opposed to two.

Thanks for the compliments. Yes, I will be detailing the other cars in addition to his 360 Modena. The GT3 is next on the list I think.

Just terrific job here Labster. The combo of your process and the Souveran is perfect for a wet look. And to have such a sweet car is terrific...I look forward to seeing some daylight pics. :)

Wait a minnit...you mean that wasn't his garage at home? That was his Ferarri/Porsche garage? Mind if I ask what this gentleman does for a living?
