Ferrari 360 Spyder!

LastDetail

Whose yer DADDY!??!?!?!?!
Hey everybody, yet ANOTHER Ferrari! :bb:
This ferrari belongs to a friend of my customer, when I rolled up to his house yesterday to take care of a few other cars he asked me if I could do this one for his friend as well. I agreed and gave it a wash + wax and leather conditioner. I was a bit hurried because the owner indicated that he wanted it done in an hour and a half. I love these guys because when I get to their cars they are already clean. If only more customers were like this.
Process:
Megs NXT wash
Natty's Paste wax
Zymol Leather conditioner

So yeah as you can see the car is in excellant shape before I even touched it.
Sorry about how un-imaginative the pictures are, I was really rushed.

So there it is, another day another ferrari it seems. Hopefully there are more on the horizon I really like working with the owners of these cars because they can appreciate the hard work, and I just love working on these cars!

P.S.
Interesting post script, same customer same day. After I had finished up the 360 and a wash and wax on the Stradelli, he asked me to wash and wax both of his Mercedes G Wagons. He left to go to the store in some other car and his wife maneuvered his G Wagon out of the garage and then back in to allow the other car to get out. As she is pulling the Wagon back in and he is taking off I hear a screeching sound coming from inside the garage. She calls me over; apparently she had hit some old piece of furniture inside the garage and scratched the G wagon. She has me a take a look at it and asked me,
"Can you buff this out for me?" as if it were some kind of swirl mark or something.
Heres a picture of the damage
SCRATCH.jpg

I told her that there a couple things that I could try but that I would have to get her husbands permission first, she asked me if I could not tell him that she had scratched the paint. I told her that the car she scratched was the car that I was supposed to work on next and that I really should tell him. She responds with "Well could you at least not tell him it was me?" I didn't say anything, just sort of shrugged. I didn't touch the car after that, and thought it over until the customer returned. Unfortunately I had to tell him exactly what had happened, otherwise I thought he might have blamed me or something like that. After I told him immediately when he returned he thanked me for being honest and said that he appreciated it.

Your a lucky guy!! Great job on the work. Good call with telling the truth. You dont want to lie and lose a valuable customer like him.

Greg

What I thought was mildly entertaining (at least in retrospect) is that he didn't even compensate me for the work I did to repair the scratch. After he told me he appreciated my honesty, you could tell that he was still pretty angry. I fixed it almost good as new unless you knew the scratch was there you couldn't tell (sorry no picture it was too dark). Anyhow I fixed it and he was pleased but I didn't even get a "thank you". However I suppose it is allright since he is floating me all of this high-end business.

Great work lastdetail , from my experience I can see 2 things .

1. The wife didn't want you to take the blame , she was hoping that you'd act surprised and say it was already there..you know like someone in the parking lot at the store must've done it. I don't know what I would've done , probably just acted like ' what's this ? " on the next day before the detail. But hey its her fault. I 'm just saying I wouldn't want to get in between a husband and wife..

2. He was probably too pissed to aknowledge your great work on the scratch. He was too distracted to properly tip you for sure..

great work by the way .

How did you deal with surface smoothness being that the cars were not clayed, or were they already smooth so the wax spread easily?

Both of these guys only drive these cars on the weekends, if then even. When they are not being driven they are kept in ideal conditions, (garaged and under form-fitting car covers), I doubt that either of these cars has much more than 20-30 hours of cumulative time out of the garage. The wax spread so smooth it was ridiculous.

You are correct sir! The guy who owns the Stradale also owns the Enzo, the guy who owns the Spyder is a good friend of the Enzo/Stradale owner and they both go to the same sunday cruises and whatnot, I think they are in some sort of exotic import car club or something.
