It was built by Ferrari and the name Dino comes from Enzo Ferraris tragically dead son. However the "Dino" name is not exactly a Ferrari in the same aspect that Pontiac isn't a Chevy it was supposed to become a separate brand targeted at the cheaper lower upper class(if that makes sense) but never really panned out. Also from the start of the 308gt4 production in 1973 up till 1976 the Ferrari badge was not on the front of the car instead was a Dino badge, the Ferrari badged cars are called series II cars. this is however a very hotly debated topic in the Fcar world so take everything i say with a grain of salt.

Thanks for the information mate....I knew about his son but i thought that he named just some of his cars as ''dino''That's why is the badge of Ferrari badge on that one because it is a 77 model....

Thanks again mate, everyday you learn a different thing....

Sorry again for my mistake : )

Hence the Fiat Dino!!

Pampos - did you do 2 separate compounding steps (cutting pad & PFW)over the entire car or just in spots? Looks really nice.

Some spots(large spots ) are so damaged that the PFW or Orange cutting pad is not enough to remove the scratches....Also i found that i can remove the wool pad's marks with PFW than with Orange pad....So i can say that this process is for the entire car because the heavy damage is on the most surface of the car....

The scratches look to me like sanding marks BTW :nixweiss

As for that model somebody told me that it is based/similar with Lancia Stratos...

And thanks BTW :)

I've always loved these cars and would REALLY love to detail one.

You got that red paint to look astonishing. Great job.

Hey Pampos,

Nice work mate. It's really nice to see such cars being helped back to glorious shape with the help of guys like you. I've never seen that car on the roads, where was it hidden? Looking forward to seeing your work close by in June!!!

PS... The Ferrari Dino debate has raged on for years between enthusiasts and I do not think anyone has come up with an answer for it. There's certainly no official word from the factory anyway. I also do not think a detailing forum is a place to make someone feel bad and apologise about one of your peeves Saleelfun... It's a car designed by Bertone, named after Enzo's son and it was Enzo's plan to make an affordable sports car. Kinda in the same way that the California is made today. Which is what the California was going to be named in the first place before they decided it would open top. And it's in the Ferrari museum. So...I think everyone should be allowed to make up their own minds about it.

Keep up the good work Pampos...my M5 is waiting for your expert hands!
