Hello everyone,
I have been washing/cleaning cars for many years now, but never considered myself to be a true "detailer". I am a professional firefighter and on my days away from the station I have been gaining more business and have to increase my knowledge base in relation to maintaining my customer's vehicles. I have learned a lot over the past six months and even though it is getting cold here, business just keeps coming my way. I do not advertise so my business is strictly through referrals. I enjoy reading the posts in this forum and I am learning from each of you. Thanks.

Welcome to DC! There's definitely plenty of advice here for anything you might need info on, I know I've picked up a ton of great tips since I joined.

Welcome to DC!!

Sound like you have jumped right into the fire. I know bad joke. :innocent:

Just keep on learning.. When you get the chance post pic's and process of your work.

cwcad,

There are no bad jokes at the fire station, but that one could possibly make you the next days cook. Ha! Ha!

A FireFighter, i would have love to been one. Welcome to detail city there's a wealth of knowledge and top of line products through the sponsor's here & the member's here aren't so bad either. Be safe and watch out for the Fuzz :naughtyD Thats a pic of him on the left.

Inthedetails,

Great. For two years I was assigned to the training division and worked from 8 to 5. Not much time for a second job. Now I am back on shift and I have plenty of time to pursue my true love, which is detailing vehicles. I let my friends and some people that I was detailing for on weekends know that I was available to do more jobs and gratefully I am staying pretty busy just on referrals. Don't want to get too big or too busy. Do most of the work out of my home.

Do they ever have you doing anything special to the truck at the fire house?

Enjoy your stay, look forward to seeing some of your work

Jaybs95,

We keep the trucks pretty clean, but that is left up to the driver and the firefighters. The new fire service is all about documentation and paper work, so as the company level officer I spend a great deal of my time in the office.
