Favorite Songs

zesty-man

how do ya like it?
im not sure if theres been any other threads on this, but lets hear it anyway. i just got an ipod and im looking to "expand my horizons" when it comes to music (along with competing with my friends to see who gets hte most songs). so, what are you guys favorite songs?

I really like anything from The Starting Line, Spitalfield, Hawthorne Heights, and Alexisonfire (Pulmonary Archery is my favorite from them). If you want something a little harder, Taking Back Sunday and Senses Fail are both good bands as well.

Im with Travis here, lately in my car is been the new Starting Line and Fall Out Boy CDs. The Used, Finch, Urwritten Law, Thursday, Saves the Day, Something Corporate, Mest, Story of the Year, Thrice, and Amror for Sleep are some of the bands whos albums are on my mp3 player. I am also a huge fan of Breaking Benjamin since they are from my town, great music if you like bands like Godsmack, Taproot, etc. Old Nirvana tunes are also golden.

Wow, it's like you're in my head. I really like Unwritten Law's new cd, as well as Armor For Sleep's new one. I think you would really like Alexisonfire as well.

Travis- Driftwood
The Verve- Drugs don't work

Some songs I'm listening right now..will update it if you like these...(in case your taste is very different from mine :-p

Spencer Davis Group: 'Gimme Some Lovin' is a good hard driving song (OK, so I like a lot of the oldies)

Zesty,

Nice to see you back! .... I was actually just wondering last week where you have been.

In any event! Check out www.allofmp3.com great website for downloading music. Its based out of Russia so it takes them a week or 2 to get the new releases. However the price point is where its at.

$0.02 per mb. So an entire album will cost you about $0.80 give or take depending on the size. and what bit rate you are getting.

either which way...Much cheeper than I tunes...

to date I have 2094 songs on my ipod! And that list keeps growing every day ... if you would like I will give you a copy of my list of songs!

Porcupine Tree, Acoustic Alchemy, Medeski Martin & Wood, Delerium, Sarah McLachlan, Aimee Mann, Kathleen Edwards, Beck, Beth Orton, Bjork, Diana Krall, Doves, VAST, Enigma, Flimm & the BB's, Herbie Hancock, & Pete Yorn - that's my current playlist that I'm listening to right now. :)

Trav, I couldn't find anything from Alexisonfire on Napster but if my local CD shop has their CD(s) I'll grab it on a whim, what is the title of their record(s) you like? BTW, if you get a chance pick up Fall Out Boy's "From Under the Cork Tree" it is one of the better CDs I bought in the last year.

Alexisonfire has two cd's, one is self-titled and the other is called "Watch Out!" it's my favorite of the two. I have Fall Out Boy's first cd, which is great, so I am sure their new one will be equally as good (I get to see them at Warped Tour this year too).

lol dont be scared to share old stuff too. i actually have to play that song for my school band at football games. now thats a pretty fun song. anyways, heres a couple of songs that i like to listen to.

Bad Touch - Bloodhound Gang (this ones a classic)
Total Eclipse of the Heart - Bonnie Tyler
Gifts and Curses - Yellowcard
All I Have to Give - Backstreet Boys (the girls laugh at this one, but they know they like it)
P.I.M.P. - 50 cent
Just A lil bit - 50 cent
Karma - Alica Keys
Punk Rock 101 - Bowling For Soup

as you can see, i have a pretty interesting assortment of music on my ipod

You gotta rep some of the Old School punk in with the newer hardcore.

Dead Kennedys - Fresh Fruit for Rotting Vegetables
Misfits - Collection II
Bad Religion - All Ages
Social Distortion - Really anything by them is great

Some newer stuff that I didn't really see here, from the west coast
Tiger Army - Self Titled
AFI - Really any of their older stuff, Very Proud of Ya, or Black Sails in the Sunset
Death By Stereo - Into the Valley of Death

and to finish it up a great compilation CD from Orange County of some of the local hardcore bands doing covers of old school GnR songs called Bring you to your Knees. I really like older guns and roses and more modern hardcore, if that is you this CD is excellent. It has 18 Visions, Bane, Death by Stereo, the Dillinger Escape Plan and a ton of others. PM me if you can't find this in your area and I might be able to email some of the songs to you. Great great CD.

Social Distortion - Ball and Chain (live) and every other song from the past 25 years! If you get a chance to see them live, do it! The tour is winding down.
