Favorite quik detailer ***

I tried Clearkote Quickshine on a very hot (dark) car and it streaked a bunch. With enough wiping it worked out but definately a lot more trouble than say Meguiar's. I'm going to try it sometime though when its not hot and see how it looks.

Hmmm...interesting....I suppose you are right! I just feel that it is so 'here today, gone tomorrow' for some reason.....I guess I have always just figured it wasn't meant to protect.

I will have to pay more attention next time I use it....(hopefully that will be today!! Gotta get my detail-on!)
 
ClearKote QuikShine

Very versatile...works well with carnuaba or with sealant and is also good on many different surfaces....works in the sun or shade...looks great and very slick.

Give it another shot, its a great product, liked by many...

I agree with Patrick. QS can be applied on hot surfaces, but preferrably not on dark colors in direct sunlight. If you don't have a shady place to work in, then applying it to smaller areas and quickly buffing off with a microfiber towel works.
 
As a note, I used Poorboys Spray and Wipe on a Black Audi A8 in direct sun on July 4th and it worked like a charm. So hot you could see the steam coming off but it still worked without streaking.

I have that problem too with my black GT. I've found that an MF dampened with water works well to re-distribute the QS and eliminate the streaks.
 
Stupid question...is there a difference between Meg's regular "QD" and Final Inspection? I know I don't have Final Inspection, just the regular stuff...any difference?
 
Has anyone tried a product called Buffalo Milke? It's more of a wax but it works pretty well as a detailer.
 
Here in the UK, QD's are rare, but I have access to 1 gallons of Megs FD & Clearkote QS. I have both & must admit find both of them to be excellent, not much to choose between them

If I had to have one only then maybe it would be QS as I seem to use less to get the required effect.

FD costs about $30 & QS about $50.



I also think Spray & Wipe is a superb product.
 
Zymol QD brings out 90% of my original Zymol wax finish for me for 3-4 bi-weekly washes before it is time to wax again. BTW my car is garaged @work as well.
 
Is Meg's Final Detail ok for Klasse SG? Think I saw a recent post expressing concern about this.
