Favorite Polish/Wax combo on Silver?

If your car is new then try einszett Metallic Polish and Glanz Wax. This is an awesome combo on my Reflex Silver Passat. Both products are very easy to work with by hand or PC and produce a very deep wet gloss. I've compared the Glanz and S100 carnauba wax and the only difference I could find was the S100 was a bit slicker. I top my Glanz with Meg's Final Detail each time I wash, but now I'm getting ready to start using 1Z's new Perls Shampoo so I can't wait to see how that works out.

:bow to this combo! Then get the new perls shampoo and the soon to arrive in the US LackFinish (QD) :xyxthumbs

You'll get the looks you want with the easy of use.

This was after 1 pass with 3M FI-2 (does anybody still use it?) and another pass with 3M SMR. I put on about 6 coats of Zaino Z5 w/ZFX after that.

Yes, I still use it (and love it) and still am a happy zaino user (click link in sig to see a pic).

Every product combo being mentioned is good, but they can all look VERY different on different variations of silver. I'm currently maintaining five silver vehicles and I use something different on four of them. I'm always surprised at what a HUGE difference different (final) products make when it comes to how silver paint looks.

The best advice *I* can give is to try SOMETHING, maybe the K twins or P UPP or BFII and see what you think. I like K on most Japanese silvers, but I DON'T like it on Audis. Can't say WHY, it just didn't get it for me. My wife likes 3M Showcar Paste Wax on HER Audi; I'm currently favoring P UPP on mine. (BTW, BFII looked VERY different from anything else on silver Audis, made the paint quite dark, like a different color.) Just gotta try a few different things and see what looks best to *YOU*. This one is a REAL personal preference situation.

I WILL say that proper prep makes all the difference, as with every other detail. At truly unmarred finish (no micromarring) makes silver just POP in a way that normally invisible marring just won't allow. Silver is very forgiving, but it won't look its BEST unless it's treated just like black or red. Same ole same ole, huh?

I would seriously consider Blackfire. I have a silver/gold Accord and I'm always getting comments on how shiney it looks. I've tried just pinnacle liquid souveran on my dad's silver focus and there is no comparison. It is true that Blackfire is difficult to work with, but reading some of the Zaino and Klasse reviews, I don't think there are as many problems. Now is a good time to apply it too, it's relatively cold and dry. It lasts fairly long too, and the shine really is amazing. Depth on silver is going to be hard to get. Most likely the depth will come from polishing and not the wax on top itself.

DACP =Meguiars Dual Action Cleaner Polish. Try AIO, SG top with P21S on silver! "wet n watery" look, if thats what u looking for!

Amp - Souveran paste has the cool effect of darkening the silver a bit. I like it over AIO & SG during the summer. Not durable enough here in the winter, though...
