Favorite Pad For The Flex

So far, my pad of choice on the Flex would be the Erasure 6.5" pads from Excel Detail. Keep in mind that I have only tried these and pads from Detailer's Paradise (sourced from LC - I think they are they're standard flat pads). I'm interested in picking up some LC CCS pads though and giving them a whirl. Also, I might branch out and try a 7.5" pad for grins, but 6.5" so far seems to be a good size for it.

I've used both the 6.5" LC CCS pads and the "older" 6.5" LC pads that have the concave middle section on the pad. They both worked fine with respect to the finish they produced. But I actually liked the older "concave" style pad because it's really easy to tilt the pad slightly on it's side and get a nice clean one inch "lip" of the pad to polish with. This is very helpful in tighter areas (A Pilars and such)...and it seems to still polish very well. I think the forced rotation is what allows you to polish with only a small area of pad in contact with the paint. I remember trying to do the same thing with the PC...and it never really worked, I always had to switch to the 4" pad for tight areas. And since the CCS pads are completely flat...angling them doesn't work as well.

I keep going back and forth with ordering 7.5" pads...I think they'll work well and give me the ability to use only a small area of the pad for the tight areas. I'm waiting for WK446 to try his out...he mentioned he had 7.5" pads.

Though I haven't quite finished my report/review on the Flex, I've always been partial to smaller pads. Between the 6.5" Lake Country CCS pads and the 7.5" curved edge pads, my preference is the smaller pad. IMHO, If you have not had experience with either, go with the one that is the most cost effective.
